We're so sad to say that this will be the last post for this year's Summer of Giles. Kate and I would like to take this time to thank all of our lovely writers and artists and vidders and readers for making this year's SoG super awesome. We'd also like to thank each and every one of you who gave feedback; you're the ones who make it all worthwhile! This year we had a bunch of new posters (which is something we LOVE to see, since it reminds us all that fandom is still growing!), and an amazing number of people who have been with this community from the beginning, and some wonderful talent that's been out there in the Btvs verse and decided this year was their year to take the plunge in our little comm.
It amazes both of us pleased that we're still going strong after three years (and hopefully for many more! so keep your eyes open for next year). What started out as a tiny poll in Kate's journal has turned into such an amazing outpouring of talent, love, and awesomeness all in the name of our favorite Watcher. Thank you, ALL OF YOU, for everything you do to keep this corner of the fandom going strong. Also thank you for being such an amazing and supportive bunch of people, because it would be very hard for us to keep going if it wasn't a total joy interacting with you.

( Awards sites! )FINISHING YOUR WIPsWe're going to try something ELSE that's different this year. For those of you who started posting a work-in-progress fic as part of your Summer of Giles posting, we would like to invite you to post the fic (or fic link) to Summer of Giles after the community officially closes. We had a bunch of WIPs get started this year, and we'd love to see how they finish! And so, instead of switching off posting access to the community, we're going to switch to moderated submissions. If you started a fic/fic series and posted it at Summer of Giles, but didn't finish it, we welcome you posting the fic or fic links in the comm during the off season.
AND FINALLYPhew!! It's a long bunch of stuff, but that's because it's even harder for Kate and I to acknowledge that (for us) the Giles part of the summer is coming to a close. Thank you, again, to every single one of you for making 2008 absolutely fantastic and filled with Giles-y Goodness!!! We hope to see you around here next year.
