We want your [info]suggestions wishlist!
Happy Boxing Day, everyone!

As Boxing Day is a day of goodwill and granting the wishes of strangers, I wanted to make a poll here in Suggestions to collect your wishes.

As we're getting a new general manager soon, we want to be prepared to let them know the features that our users really want for LiveJournal but haven't gotten yet. This way, when we're finalizing our year-long plans for 2008, we can be sure to have plenty of frequently-requested features lined up to add to our development plans.

In order to make this data easiest for me to collect and aggregate, I have a poll here that I'd like you to fill out. Please fill out this poll with URLs only linking me to your top three not-yet-implemented suggestions.

Poll #1111694
Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: Friends

Suggestion #1:

Suggestion #2:

Suggestion #3

To save you some time digging for things, here are what I've found to be the most frequently-suggested features:

Thank you for your feedback!

With the journal stats, it would be nice to have a way to block your own IP address so that doesn't count towards the hit total.

I really would like more mood themes, they have had the same ones since I started on here, and I hate posting my own because of the whole uploading/link thing.

And ignoring posts/comments from certain people, that would be heaven.

Some of the early limits that have never expanded.

User pic gif maximum size. Animated gifs are very popular and very hard to keep under constraints.

Maximum number of interests has been pegged at 150 for a VERY long time. (Pre-auth-codes)

Again.. with the server size, are these limits still necessary?

One that hasn't made it to [info]suggestions because it's too new: Identify adult/explicit/offensive content that's already been flagged or ID'd as such, so people don't waste their flags on something that's already marked.

Right now, when logged in, I can't tell if something has been marked "explicit," and I don't know what LJ has already tagged as "offensive" and removed from filtered searches.

My big request (explained)
[info]lordandrei
2007-12-27 01:43 am UTC (link)
I'd like to be able to filter friends by tags they use.

I currently have a filter for topics. But this limits my readership to friends who've asked me to be on that filter.

This should be able to be opt-out rather than opt-in.

If I make a tag: Blogathon2008

Someone should be able to subscribe to [info]lordandrei minus Blogathon2008"... this way... when I make 100 posts in a weekend, readers can 'opt-out' if they prefer.

BIG REQUEST here.

Question- if you guys have been working on it for so long, why not just implement it? Why make it a big 2008 project? I'm not trying to be snarky, it just really doesn't make sense.

Chief Maintainer Removal Protection

It can be difficult to choose a co-maintainer, and it would be great to not have to be scared about it as well. It would also be awesome to have more of a hierarchy system, and be able to promote members to limited maintainer powers. Maybe someone you want to manage tags you don't want to approve members, or approve posts, etc.

Removing people from your "also friend-of" list. There have been problems with troll journals adding people and forcing people to f-lock their entries. I know I have a few trolls on my journal that I'd rather not have reading about my personal life.

Another suggestion that I haven't seen (though, admittedly, I only scrolled back through about 4 months of suggestions, because I have no desire to go further)...

For communities that have posting guidelines/rules & which are moderated:
The ability to enable a pop-up window or confirmation page just before someone posts or just after someone posts, reminding them of the rules so they can make sure that the posting guidelines have been followed.
