AboutHello, and welcome to the Sugar Sugar Rune community! Here, fans can talk about anything related to this series: the manga, the anime, merchindise, ect. Remember to keep spoilers under an LJ-CUT!
[Sugar Sugar Rune], or "Sugar2 Rune", as it's sometimes called, is a "mahou shoujo" manga done by artist Moyoco Anno and is currently running in Nakayoshi magazine in Japan.
One night, two young witches named Chocolat and Vanilla come to the human world. Their mission: to be tested to determine who deserves to be the next queen of their magic world. The rules are simple: the more hearts a witch collects, the closer she gets to becoming queen! But how do they get these hearts? Well, when a boy has feelings for a witch, she can see his heart shining in various colors. Then with a few magic words, his heart is hers! Witches are able to collect many hearts from one boy, each for a different type of feeling. If a boy finds his heart, he won’t die… but he will lose that feeling. A witch, on the other hand, has only one heart to capture, and if she gives it to a human, she will die!
[Sugar Sugar Rune] is currently being released in English by Del Rey as of September 2005. In Japan, it's currently up to 4 volumes and is still running monthly in Nakayoshi magazine. An anime series based on the manga has started running in Japan July 2nd, 2005 on TV Tokyo.
