This community is a gathering place for owners of diabetic pets past and present to share their experiences and help each other through the tough times.
Upon joining, please share a history of your diabetic pet as well as the current steps that are being taken to control the diabetes. Please keep your posts on topic, regarding the state of your pet's health, visits to the vet, questions about having a diabetic pet, your inner sadness and fear due to the condition, etc.
Feel free to share pictures of your diabetic pet when posting about your pet and his or her condition, but keep in mind that there are many other communities to share pictures just to share pictures.
Having a diabetic pet is a scary thing. I know I cried when I first found out that Blueberry was diabetic, and I have cried many times since. This process is easier if we know that other people are in the same situation and we can share our fears, joys, and knowledge with each other. Please do not flame another member for how they care for their pet - while we all have or had diabetic pets, every case is different, and every vet is going to recommend a different method of caring for the pet. Please share your insights and experiences without degrading other members. If you are concerned about a post or comment, please contact the maintainers and include a link to the questionable content. They will address the item of concern.
Keep in mind that information in this community comes from fellow pet owners. Always follow the advice of your veterinarian, and if you are concerned about the status of your pet's health, you should contact your vet! Do not change the medications of your pet without consulting your vet!
