| About: | When you post artworks, please, if possible, try not to make it so utterly massive that it would even dwarf Guy Secretan's perception of his own man-bits. About 500x500 pixels in size would be delicious, then we can see the whole picture in one window. And when you post it through LJ's image-includer tool, bang on a border of size 3 or 4, please. It frames them nicely. :-) Also try to make sure your name is on the pic somewhere; doesn't have to be your full name, it can be your first or even your LJ username. Or both. Just make sure you lay claim to it, on it! Don't want any internet baddies nabbing your prized works. Another interesting point is that because those of us on this comm are arty types, it would be nice to list materials and media you used to make the pictures; whether it be pencils, paint, on canvas, that sort of thing. For example: *Enter Art Work Here* THEN: TITLE: 'Julian Rhind-Tutt' (2007) ARTIST: Jennifer Kettlewell/miss_lancing MEDIA: Coloured-Pencil drawing on watercolour paper, then run through Photoshop CS for fine-tuning (such as smoothing of eyes and lightening of hair in places.). ARTIST'S COMMENTS: "I was really happy with this when I finished it; I hadn't drawn anything since finishing Advanced Art at school last May, and even then, that stuff was stylised and full of forced-conceptualism. I'm a literal artist in that if I see a red square, it's a red fucking square, no matter HOW you look at it, and it shouldn't win any sort of prestigious title. I'm old fashioned in that sense. Having said that, I can bullshit with the best of them. But I KNOW it's bullshit, know what I mean? Anyway, it took maybe three or four hours, then another hour or so of fine-tuning. And I loved doing it." And it would be great if you could put your own username as the tag; no fancy 'lj user' code, just type it plainly, then people can search the art by the artist. And obviously you'll have to choose a name to go by every time you post a picture. As regards 'reviews' (comments), anyone can post them. As I'm not a sickeningly gut-wrenchingly nicey-nicey person, I don't mind if you speak your mind about the art, but having said that, I'm not up for 'flaming'. Any negative comments must have a constructive-crit backbone to them. Let's play this game like adults, kids. :-) And lastly; you must only post your OWN work. No-one elses, permission or no permission. Thanks for listening; hope you like the community! I shall be a fair and sometimes frank leader. Mostly fair. Promise. | ||
