AboutMary Sue/Gary Stu: a character who is the author in disguise. Normally a Gary Stu/Mary Sue is the hero of the story, all the characters fall in love with him/her, s/he is outrageously fabulous and beautiful and powerful. Mary Sue stories are basically elaborate fantasies wherein the author gets to pretend that s/he is magical and is in the book. While there are some interesting and well-written Mary Sues, generally they are not very good.

This community is for icons all about Mary Sues and badfic in general. And, like any icon community, we have rules.
1. If you're posting more than 3 icons, please put them behind a lj-cut. If you don't know how to make a lj-cut, go here.
2. Posting non-Mary-Sue icons = Big nono. There are plenty of icon communities that I'm sure would love to see your work. I suggest![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif)

3. Requests are ok, as long as they have something to do with Mary Sues.
4. Respect the icon makers. If they want you to credit them in keywords, then do it. If you don't know how, go here. If you don't, I will come after you with a bat. No kidding.
5. Don't be an idiot. Obey common laws of courtesy. DoN't TyPe LiKe ThIs or do anything equally dumb. It's not hard, people.
6. There is no badmouthing of Mary Sue writers in this community. If you make an icon relating to something you read in a fic - that's fine, you can say where you got it from, too, but any insults towards those authors themselves will not be taken to kindly.
