However even after this the guy posted an abrasive/clueless "apology" to the group, including many follow-up responses of (paraphrased) 'silly girls, I'm not offensive!', which can be found at http://community.livejournal.com/girl_g
His "apology" is as follows (in case it is deleted):

My apologies to you all, I had no clue there were so many girls here that didnt like being complimented.
The post wasn't meant to sound as if I was just some lonely internet guy. Though I'm sure its already stuck in most of your heads as a fact, I assure you my intentions were friendly.

Either way, again I'd like to say I'm sorry for hitting so many nerves. The whole thing really was just supposed to be a post about how much I appreciate the fact that girls play. In hindsight, I suppose I could have been more eloquent about it.
