• How does a familiarity with fanfiction sexuality change the way we perceive sexuality in children's literature?
  
• How does fanfiction react to a media creator consciously referencing children's literature, either subtly (Rob Thomas naming an episode of Veronica Mars after one of his own young adult novels) or explicitly (film versions of children's books)?
  
• Do extremely metatextual children's books (such as Jane Yolen's Sister Light, Sister Dark or Diana Wynne Jones's The Spellcoats) use any of the same techniques as fanfiction?
  
• Both fanfiction and children's literature are disregarded literatures by so-called serious readers and scholars. Given this, is there anything they have in common?
  
• Both fanfiction and children's literature are fields dominated by women -- in fact, by women who write most of the time about male characters. Does this give them any similarities in content or style?
  
• Anything else you can think of. I'm just making these up off the top of my head.
