My computer crashed a few weeks ago--my hard drive was utterly fried, and I had to get a new computer. Unfortunately, with the loss of my computer, I also lost reliable access to internet, so. I have it back, now, and I'm putting up three challenges for the ones I missed. Thanks for your patience.

Author's Notes: I'm a shameless fluffball, what can I say.

Ed's eyes are always on Orphe, watching diligently over him at that plot of glistening granite. He knows Orphe's wounds are still raw and fresh; the sepia-colored photo of angelic faces bound by noble blood still stands on his desk, the polished locket of lily-engraved silver just as revered by its side.

"I don't really get it," Ed remarks haphazardly one day, kneeling at Robertine's grave, "but Camus said these'd be good."

A small bundle of Forget-Me-Nots, bound with white ribbon. As eyes of the same color turn to him, Ed feels as though their distance is not as great.

Warnings: Rando!pairing. Disturbing... XD This will be my last drabble with these characters randomly slashed inbetween each other (I hope). XDDD; So; OOC. XD; I will repair my defunct ML brain once I am finished dealing with the disappointing ending of MLWieder.

Challenge: #3- Distance

Melting

One way to remedy Ludwig’s aloofness was, in Camus’ eyes, presenting him with dewdrop-sprinkled flowers. Ludwig protested to the unnecessary touch. When tears welled up, Ludwig quieted; Camus was allowed to infiltrate his shields.

Naoji had found that offering tea –ginseng, with a hint of sugar- opened Ludwig up a bit. Lips would taste of sugar, and dewdrops. Irritation welled up; Naoji kept quiet.

Once, they accidentally met in Lui’s bed. Naoji had felt nostalgic; Camus had experienced a nightmare.

Seeing usually uninterested lips transforming into a fascinated smirk, the two Candidates decided to team up. Ludwig’s resistance melted rapidly.

A/N: Set to take place quite a ways after the ending of Wieder. A semi-spinoff of an idea from a Lui/Naoji 1sentence claim that I wanted to play more with but couldn't cram into a single sentence. xD; Written while listening almost exclusively to asa ni michite by Origa.

It is one-thousand words, exactly, in perfect Kuchen script on pristine Japanese parchment. One-thousand words, save for dark, pragmatic brushstrokes of glossy ink at the bottom of the sandalwood scented paper. Exquisite, with a meaning he thought entirely lost on him. After all, Ludwig does not read Naoji’s mother language.

A visit paid to the Japanese boy's Kuchen confidant—“Foster-san”—under the pretense of business; though, mildly chagrined, Ludwig fast notices just how little slips past his attention to the letter.

He simply smiles, eyes crinkled in mirth, and hands the letter back to him.

“I think you already understand.”

Veiled Red

To Naoji, Ludwig’s lips were a mystery, built from soft shades of pink contrasting against pale skin.

Said lips never smiled; only on rare occasions (usually produced by the offering of a new flower, as the owner of rose lips secretly took the best care of plants out of them) did they curl upwards. Pink rarely parted for deep red when conversation was not required.

Naoji served tea to find out what mysteries lay within the pink, before their paths would separate.

Slender fingers wrapped around the ear of the cup; lips parted. A knowing smirk hid behind the chalice.

Camus was always the one personified as tender. A flower. Easily hurt, and difficult to mend.

Camus hated labels. Desperate to find courage, he clung to Ludwig. Camus’ friend; had been his friend when even flowers couldn’t wipe away anxiety. Tears vanished in long blue manes. So did fingers.

Closer than Ludwig let people perceive. The Japanese boy hadn’t a clue.

Camus hated the fact that he was hurt by Ludwig’s blasé air towards him. Challenges ahead; the flower boy didn’t want to remain too close to his Lui.

If only he could bloom fully without Ludwig tending to him.

Ashibumi. There are twenty-eight meters to cross. Dozukuri. Twenty-eight meters, all governed by his parallel synchronicity. Yugamae. One, two, three, and the target is in sight.

Uchiokoshi, Hikiwake, Kai. Asymmetric bamboo flexes, plaintive across taught muscle. White hawk feathers skim just shy of his mahogany gaze, fixated on the unwavering point of red.

Hanare. Twine snaps and the arrow whistles; a sharp, discordant impact against wood, and all other sound seeps back into his consciousness.

The bow is testament to his power, the arrow: his mind.

Zanshin.

A ghostly whisper of a sigh. Never has the gap felt so large.
