UPDATE on Triple Homicide Case: KTTS reports the juvenile charged in connection with the murders of Jeffery & Glenda Smith and Zachary "Napalm" Porter has been certified as an adult and is identified as Benjamin Stidham. Going by the nickname "Ben Broken" a status update on his Myspace October 10th says "It feels good to be a monster." Additional information and video from Ozarks First. Steven Pyyokola has yet to have his prelim hearing this week.

If you haven't check out Irv Mushnick's Wrestling Babylon of late, there seems to be a dustup between him and longtime wrestling newsman Dave Meltzer.

I need to issue an MODDED editorial comment here - to the person who ran around town tearing down flyers for a competing wrestling event - the perpetratorS were spotted, some description was obtained, the only thing sorely missing was a plate number. At this point you're gonna be hearing it from the folks whose work you sabotaged. The fact that you would attempt to ruin a show, which in turn was a benefit for a family in need was very low class and unprofessional. Really, do you have so little to do with your time to engage in such petty behavior?

BREAKING NEWS - OBIT: Former WWE superstar Umaga has died, according to WWE.com. It had been reported earlier today that he was taken to the hospital after being found by his wife at home not breathing with blood coming from his nose. He had just returned from a tour of Australia as part of the Hulkamania tour.

Court hearings were held Wednesday with two of the suspects in the triple homicide that took the lives of Zachary 'Napalm' Porter and Jeffrey & Glenda Smith in SW MO. A third suspect will have his hearing next week, as well as the fourth suspect, a juvenile, to determine whether he can be tried as an adult. Josh Reyes and Jacky Wong waived their right to a preliminary hearing that sends the case to trial. Cameras were not allowed in the courtroom. The victim's families spoke out after the hearing to Ozark's First. (w/ video)

This week's episode of the Nose Bleed Seats is back up. I've had to move this to Myspace from Yahoo Video. For some ridiculous reason they have suddenly put in a maximum 15 minute time limit for videos, and did not bother telling anyone hoping no one would notice. I will need suggestions on video sites again that do not force people to break up videos into multiple parts.

The STLWC Showcase is online. This week we feature action from RPW, singles action from LWA, an HWC title defense from UWC, and the mauling from MECW.

The Thanksgiving holiday is usually a time when promotions aren't running shows but we have a few key ones this week grouped mostly in southern Illinois. Chaos Pro returns to action after nearly a year layoff.

Reminder to get your votes into the RSPW Year End Awards before November 30th.

IWA Mid-South has announced they will be running their first event in Litchfield, IL on Dec. 4th. It will be interesting to see if they pull in similar numbers to Rampage and how fans receive the show.

Abraham Lincoln (no, really!) goes to NMW's November Reign to relive his days as a wrestler.

The Investigation Channel as part of the Discovery network had a piece where Ashley Reeves speaks to Paula Zahn about being attacked and left for dead by "The Teacher" Sam Shelton. This aired in mid-October. Shelton is currently serving a nearly 20-year sentence at a Joliet prison.

WWE presents No Way Out on February 21st at the St. Louis Scottrade Center.

Triple Homicide Update: Divers were unable to find the murder weapons used in the triple homicide that took the lives of Zachary "Napalm" Porter and Jeff & Glenda Smith in Lake McDaniel. A grand jury will determine if there's enough evidence to send those charged to trial in December.

Matt Murphy has written the next chapters in his series on MWR, chapter six on "protecting the business" or how I call it--"hopelessly trying to put the genie back in the bottle 15-20 years after the fact", and chapter seven, how utterly retarded and corrupt as heck the Missouri Athletic Commission is in their money grabs on the little guys in wrestling.

A new champion will be decided on December 12th at NBWA's next event at Lincoln's Challenge Acadmey Gym in Rantoul, IL.

Greg "The Hammer" Valentine is suing Windy City Pro Wrestling after falling and injuring his knee when a set of stairs and catwalk collapsed leading to and from the wrestling ring. The incident took place at a supershow at Toyoto Park in Bridgeview, IL earlier this year.

Triple Murder Suspects in Court Monday

The three adult suspects in the murder of Zachary 'Napalm' Porter and Jeff & Glenda Smith were in court Monday afternoon. Details on what happened with video are at this link. A grand jury will hear evidence on December 2nd to determine if there's enough evidence to send the case to trial with two of the suspects. One of the suspects requested a new judge. The sixteen year-old is undergoing a psychological evaluation.

United Wrestling Coalition has cancelled their show on 10/24. Their next event will be on 11/14 back in Paris.

We have a late addition, HWE was thought to be in limbo but we've discovered they are running this Saturday in Metropolis. Their new webpage is linked.

Just a note, AAPW this Saturday starts in the afternoon at 3PM.

This week on the Nose Bleed Seats podcast hosted by Chris Lee and co-hosts MOAV5706 and the Mad Conservative Crimefighter in part one of a two part interview our guest is Chicago mainstay and soon to be legendary manager Joey Eastman. We discuss the new Rebellious Wrestling Federation as he shall lead the NWA Florida Champion the new Shiek against Silas Young for the NWA Midwest title this Friday in Ashton, IL at the Mills & Petrie Memorial Building - 704 North First St.

Fan reaction to the triple homicide case:

A video tribute to the late Zachary "Napalm" Porter.

A wrestling fan, Bigirishjuggalo, gives his comments on the loss of Zachary Porter.

Another wrestling fan, darkjediken323, claims the media ignored the murder of a juggalo.

The same fan has his own video tribute to Napalm.

COMMENT: I cannot agree with the claim that the press in general ignored it. If you search on Zachary Porter on Google News there are over 200 articles on the case. They certainly didn't make light that he was a pro wrestler or had a connection with JCW. I just don't know what kind of coverage they are looking for here on the case; maybe a feature story on cable news outlets? Now, I can tell you that another multiple murder case in central Illinois got a few thousand articles written about it...and that is due to the unusual circumstances of the crime, how long it took to ID and arrest the suspects, and the motive is STILL unknown. The suspects in this case however were ID'ed taken down right away. The story isn't over by a long shot though, once the criminal hearings start next week coverage is gonna pick up again. I should also note, local media did not cover the Juggalo Gathering at all this year compared to last year despite there being a few fatalities on the grounds.

Nathan Orton made his first appearance as part of a wrestling event managing his father Cowboy Bob Orton in a DQ loss against Harker Dirge when he retaliated after being slapped by Dirge.

Dingo is said to be okay after taking what was described as a Steiner Screwdriver from Davey Vega at NWA DPW Friday night. Dingo had to be carted out on a stretcher as a precaution.

The promoter of USACW and/or Nashville Wrestling and legendary villian manager Bert Prentice is battling colon cancer.

MWR's Brian Kelley interviews LWA Heavyweight Champ KC Karrington.

Minor update on the triple homicide case - The 16-year-old Springfield male is being held in the Camden County Juvenile Detention Center on delinquency charges and will be represented by a public defender. A hearing has not yet been scheduled on whether he will be tried as an adult.

NEW: Legendary WWE manager Captain Lou Albanio has passed away at age 76.


Updates on the triple murder case

Funeral arrangements have been set for Zachary "Napalm" Porter. Visitation will be from 5pm to 8pm, Thursday, October 15, 2009 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway in Tuscon, AZ. Funeral Service is at 11am on Friday, October 16, 2009 at Glad Tidings Assembly of God, 600 N. Kolb Road in Tuscon, AZ with a time of fellowship following the Service at the church.

Napalm was scheduled to wrestle at this weekend's Independent Hardcore Wrestling event in Dupo, IL. This event will now be in tribute to his memory.

Jeffery and Glinda Smith were laid to rest Wednesday.

Zachary "Napalm" Porter
BREAKING NEWS: Tragic news to pass along...former St. Louis area wrestler "Napalm", real name Zachary Porter was killed in a triple homicide in Lebannon, MO on Saturday. (video) Porter was only 25 years old. His last known wrestling appearance in the St. Louis area was at the most recent Independent Hardcore Wrestling event in Dupo, IL. He had also wrestled for Midwest Powerhouse Wrestling, FTW and PWE. Josh Reyes along with two other men (video) have been arrested in the shooting; the motive appears to be jealousy over a recent breakup with his former girlfriend. We will be posting updates as they come off the news wires.

Names released with the other two suspects - each charged with first degree murder, burglary, and armed criminal action.

A fourth person has been arrested in connection with the murders, a 16-year old who could be tried as an adult.

OBIT: As Josh Ray posted on the STLWC board, the wife of Harley Race, Beverly "BJ" Race has passed away on Friday. Cauliflower Alley Club has a photo of the couple and details on funeral arrangements.


Full Throttle Wrestling has cancelled its show in Granite City on 10/17. No shows are scheduled at this time citing a pending change in management.

USA Championship Wrestling at the Catskin Days Festival in Carrier Mills, IL tonight will be moved indoors if it is still raining this evening.

GAW has moved it's 10/17 event from Maroa, IL to 602 S. Mercer in Decatur, the site of their Friday haunted house shows.

IWAP Heavyweight Champ Steven Davis was diagnosed with a neck injury that will require surgery and is scheduled in November. Davis successfully defended the IWAP title Wednesday night and is scheduled to team with Christian Rose vs. Carnage & Alex Castle next Wednesday.

All American Pro Wrestling has opened voting in the Fan's Choice Polls for one of their January 2010 events. Vote for who should receive an AAPW Heavyweight title match, tag team title match, which new wrestler should come to AAPW and which wrestler should come back to AAPW.

Adam Testa of the Bleacher Report has a writeup on AAPW this past weekend in Nashville. We're still awaiting the show results from a stealth IWAP show in Dundas, IL Friday night where the AAPW tag titles changed hands. The titles ended up going back to the former champs in Nashville. The title change caused a lot of confusion among fans and the roster as the Dundas show was not advertised.
