i tried to post this once before, but i think i hit send instead of save...whoops!

well, not really useless per se, but things that i've collected and once loved and am unwilling to part with and now want to steam up. todays project? eyewear.

a random internet acquisition from some years ago. i usually use them as a headband or as sunglasses. i feel that they could use a little something.

i love these goggles. i considered brassing them, but i don't much care for the look of brass on myself. i think i may swap out the elastic strap that squishes my brain, but i have no idea with what.

besides - i quite like the look of them as they are (apologies for the blurriness - crappy phone photos ahead!).

this makes me think my head is crooked. i never noticed that before

that's how i wear them when i'm indoors for the most part.

the second pair i swiped from a classmate (fear not, he's completely aware of my treachery). they're big like goggles but have almost no tint to them. they take up my whole face - or at least it feels that way. i think these might be good with an aviator's cap instead of my usual fascinator or assortment of feathers or miscellaneous found trinkets in my hair. i may experiment with tarnishing the frames a bit so they're not so shiny and new.

both are very future, not very Victoriana. i'm hoping to alter them to make them meet somewhere in the middle.

any ideas?

Pulp = good :D

I like the second pair, and I definitely agree on the aviator's cap bit.

Completely unrelated, but, I love the icon. I'm a huge Tyson McAdoo fan. Thinking of getting some of his art as my next tattoo.

ISTM the obvious replacement for the elastic strap would be leather straps and a buckle. (You'll want the buckle to go over some sort of backing so it doesn't dig into your head and/or tangle itself in your hair, of course!)
