As some people may know, I'm going to visit ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) moofable in Hagerstown, Maryland in January... it seems like there are more staters in that neck of the woods. We've talked about maybe collapsing into a gravitational singularity of pure awkwardness going into DC and doing a meet-up at the National Zoo or something similar. Anybody interested? |

| MIDWEST UPDATE |

All right, I've finally gotten my act together and begun writing this entry in earnest (over a month after I was originally going to - oops).
I said before and I maintain that this should be at least a day-long event. Since the Midwest is drawing from several states rather than just a local area, it'll be harder and take longer for people to gather wherever we decide to meet. Hotels/lodging should be considered. Dates as well. Right now, the first week of July and the second week of August are off-limit dates for me. We should narrow this down further as soon as possible.
The following are only ideas. Obviously this won't work if only one or two people will actually be able to show up, so I need your input on what we should do. PLEASE COMMENT!
HELL
Through some idle conversation, the idea of going to Hell, Michigan for the Midwest statemeet was brought up. Mostly because it would be fun to say us ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) statementsers dined in hell. ;P
It's a rather small town, but it seems like it could be fun, at the very least because statementsers are by nature fun-causing people. Or so we hope. ;) Here's the town webpage, and the Wikipedia entry. If we get bored there, the college town of Ann Arbor is only 30-45 minutes away.
INDIANA BEACH
I mentioned this in the first entry. Indiana Beach seems like it would be a nice place to meet. It's more centrally-located than Hell, though does seem to be in the middle of nowhere (not like Hell's exactly hopping, either).
CEDAR POINT
I'm sorry people, I can't let this idea die. It doesn't have to be the main Midwest meet-up, but I think it would be really cool if statementsers could gather at Cedar Point some day this summer. All the pertinent information on CP is at website, they have hotels on-site (and many more are located nearby) for anyone who would want to stay (CP is huge and hard to do in just one day), and it's a great great time. They have a ton of rides (roller coasters, water rides, carni rides) and games and places to eat and it's just fun. I may be biased. :D |

Unfortunately kraai and I are going to have to change the date of the Toronto and area statemeet. He has to work and we don't have a babysitter. :(
Depending on when our little one goes to Grandma's for her summer holiday we will be changing it to one of the first two weekends in July. Once I get confirmation of when she's going I'll post the new date.

Today over in statements, we began to talk about the possibility of a worldwide statemeet. That's right, one big statemeet for the entire world! It is TENTATIVELY scheduled for sometime in July of 2008.
Now, I am willing to coordinate this along with a team of other volunteers (so_jayded has already stepped forth). If you would like to help us plan, please to comment here and we'll get the ball rolling on what will certainly be, uh, one hell of an adventure!

| Unofficial Official Registration Post For NE Statmeet |

This is the unofficial official registration post for the New England Statemeet. If you are planning to attend, please comment on this post so we know who we're waiting for. As a reminder, the statemeet is planned for APRIL 7TH, 2007. THIS IS A SATURDAY.
I would appreciate it if you could comment by 3/31/07, giving me a week to know who's coming, because I want to bring swag (a la WriMo, but less cool because I totally don't have stickers and pencils that say statements on them) for everyone and, well, I need at least a week to prep something.
We will be meeting at 1:00 PM in front of PARK STREET STATION in Boston Common. (there are two brick buildings, but the meeting will be at the one CLOSEST TO THE EDGE OF THE PARK.). This is as close to "City Center" as I could get, and hopefully it will be easy to find. There will be some sort of indicator, and deltashade and I will arrive at 12:30, so someone will be there at least a half-hour before the scheduled meeting time.
We do NOT have plans yet - chances are we will spend our day ambling around the city given the weather is nice enough; otherwise, we will probably end up going inside somewhere, so it's advised you bring some cash for food and/or beverage. Of course, please dress appropriately for the weather; you're all from New England (or close, for the New Yorkers) and know that weather can fluctuate day to day. I don't want anyone to freeze or sweat to death. ♥
Actually, you should do that anyway, because we don't have a specific time that this thing is ending, so we'll probably end up eating at least twice, lolol - lunch and dinner, you know?

So, kids, due to work and its incessant giant sales and the combination of Spring Break, I am unable to attend the NE statemeets.
I mean it's theoretically doable, if I left immediately from work and drove to Boston, but it would be five or six hours after y'all start the meetup that I'd arrive, and OH HAY I can't drive. So y'all have to take lots of pics and have fun without me! |

All right, based on polling our ... what, four? potential attendees, I have tentatively decided to hold the UK Statemeet sometime after June, on a weekend, at Camden Market.
If this meets with everyone's approval, comment! If it doesn't, comment! If you're a UK statementser and you missed the original poll, comment!
We'll get more specific closer to time, I think -- I'll put forth some suggestions for dates, and see what everyone thinks. |

According to the Poll of Doom, April 7th is the only day we can all make it. This is a Saturday!
The next (and second to last) part of our Evil Planning is devising a time (along with some other things I can put into an excel sheet and analyze. Srsly, you're all feeding my addiction). deltashade, tckma, and I need to have a time in mind so that we can pick out something to do. :D

The only thing is that it's probably end up being in Hamilton rather than Toronto, just cause I know the area.

As of this post, we had four UK statementsers besides myself, one of whom specified they could not meet until after June 21st. If you have any ideas or comments to make on subjects I didn't cover in the poll, FEEL FREE. Also, arabwel, I'm sure we can extend it to people living in Ireland! The more the statementsier.
