This community was created in light of an old community that was lacking activity. Your moderators (SmokeyFizz & Gonevidder) decided to open a new community where we would have control to put up new layouts, rules, guidelines, etc.
StarWarsVids is designed for all Star Wars vidders to come and post their videos and have a good time, possibly make some new friends along the way. This community supports all types of pairings such as AU, EU, slash, or any other kind of video.
All vidders, whether experienced or new to vidding, are highly encouraged to post their videos no matter when they were made. Everyone starts somewhere and everyone has their own style of video editing. Critiques are normally welcomed unless otherwise stated by the vidder, but flaming will get your post deleted and a
warning -- or possible ban.

- When posting to StarWarsVids, please state if your video will consist of male/male, female/female, nudity, extreme violence or profanity. This is for the respect of the beliefs and views of all members in the community. So please make sure to put a warning!
- This is obviously not required, but comments are always appreciated. Be so kind as to write one for a fellow vidder who has spent hours, days, or maybe even weeks on a video that is roughly 3 minutes long. The least you can do for them is give them feedback, which will take only seconds of your time. Even a "Nice job!" will suffice.
- Clip Theft is not tolerated at all! If you are caught using someone else’s clips without permission, then that is an automatic ban from the community. Clip Theft is highly frowned upon, so please - just don’t do it! Vidders know their editing, if they see it they will know.
- Star Wars related videos only.
- Put warnings! No one wants to be thrown off by a grotesque scene without prior warning!
- Always give credit where credit is due, whether it be to another vidder who may have helped you, or if you are using someone else's clips with permission.
- Show respect.
- When entering a challenge, please be sure to read the rules posted by the mods! If you do not follow them, then your video will not be judged. |
Every month there will be a new video challenge put up for this community. Each challenge will have a different theme. It could be set by a band, a certain song, or even themes such as ‘Angst, Comedy, Disney, or Romance’. Each challenge will start on the 1st of the month. Closing dates usually are at the end of the month. Each challenge will be judged at a minimum of 5 videos. Please be sure to spread the word about the challenge, and make sure to make a reply to the challenge post if you are planning on participating! Videos are each awarded with a generous review and a banner.
The Winner of the previous challenge gets to choose the next round's theme. It can be anything they want - however, videos are always judged by Smokeyfizz. The winner of the previous round will get to choose the theme and whether or not they want to enter the challenge, or help co-judge the challenge they chose. The winner of the theme is not the 1st place winner, but instead the judge’s favourite video of the round. This winner is not chosen by Smokeyfizz, but by the previous winner to avoid the same person winning numerous times in a row. The winner must choose their favourite video, regardless if they helped co-judge or not.
