All right, cool. It seems most of you are all a go-go with opening it up to everything; promos, stills, caps, etc. So we'll do that. I'll edit the challenge post. End date is still the same (Dec 13th) and for images to work with I'm gonna send you to Daydreaming, that has not only screencaps, but all promos, stills, and a few scans as well.

To those of you who think you can't do anything with promos, I just wanna say I think you're selling your own awesome short. You can do awesome with promos. >> Evidence A << For future reference for ALL OF YOU, I just wanna say you shouldn't think "can I do this" or "does this inspire something for me?" -- I wanna urge you all to the Challenge. You can do ANYTHING! Do something new, try something different, do something different. Even if you won't ever do it again, it might teach you something new. Don't be afraid to kill your darlings and try different directions. Icon making and icon makers are ever evolving and I know you are awesome cause I was the one who let you all in here. I believe in you and that you can go even so much further now than you already have. dare, and have fun.

This is the end of the road.
This is from where to turn to pigeons, to fly the ships into the sun or to start farming. I'll let you go whichever way you want. Maybe you wanna have a go at this yourself. After all, all of this has happened before and all of it will happen again.

I love this community so much. I wanna say that.
I love each and every member, old as new, airlocked or current, and what you have tributed to this community. While we've always been small, we've been a force to be reckoned with, and a community to which other have looked for inspiration.

But fact is that everything comes to an end and I will make our #110th challenge our last. Our all time low participation numbers are one cause of it, but not all. I also gotta factor in that Battlestar Galactica is a finished show. People move on, no matter how stupid I think it is. Right now, all icon activity feels on the low pretty much everywhere, and has for a very, very long time (as well as people being on LJ at all!). I feel like icon comms is really a dying type of icon creation, and it makes me sad, cause this is how I've found a lot of new friends. But at the same time, I don't want the challenges to be a must and a pain and for you -- or me -- and for you to just slap something together. This community has always been about the fun and the creative. So I take it especially hard in this comm, which is my baby and beacon of icon comms. But it's time to end, and end here.



Most of you have for years tried your very hardest to enter the most advanced icons you can and bring us 100x100 pieces of absolute beauty, and I wanna let you know how much that really excites me.
You guys are utter and total rockstars.

But we all grow older, busier.. I look at myself and part of why I'm ending this comm is cause I don't feel I have the time in the same way I used to. Not even for this, my most beloved comm of the ones I run. I made a NY promise to make more icons in 2009 cause I love it. I love it so much. And still, I have only made six icon batches this year. Six. Over the course of 3½ years, we only took one hiatus, after 69 challenges. After another 40, it's time to say good night. With, hopefully, one big bang.

I have re-invited all airlocked members of this comm.
I would love it if you would all join us for one last challenge;

Battlestar Galactica: Bigger, Better, Uncut




Using any and all promo shots, episode stills, caps, sacans, whatever (for source material I suggest Daydreaming that has everything up over there), we resurrect challenge #55 and go crazy; For this challenge, there are NO LIMITS. You can enter 56 icons and 5 wallpapers if you want to. I'll terraform the voting after the entries we get. Say we get a gazillion Anders icons (yes, please), then the Anders icons will get a separate voting and so on (see voting #55).
So you can make any number of things in any sizes you want. Please post all icons/wallpapers/song mixes/etc to one post and edit that one post with new stuff as you make it.

You have ONE MONTH, until sunday night CET, Dec 13th. Voting will go up after that, and winners will be announced on New Year Eve, when I close starttheclock.
Please do you best to spread the word and make this last challenge as glorious as possible.

(as a sidenote, I also wanna beg anyone who wanna start a new elite BSG comm to please hold off until 2010. If you have ever loved this comm, please send everyone here to participate Until we're closed, and let the old lady go out with a bang! Thanks. ♥)

I enjoyed this challenge, ms. superstar.

I do these airlock to keep this comm alive. That might sound weird at first as I'm cutting it down but that's only to keep the members who are actually entering. It seems a lot of comms are suffering an icon loss of late so keeping a comm alive is very grueling work right now. I understand of Being Busy with real life stuff but I still have to do this. If there is something else that keeps you from entering, please let me know. I can't fix a problem I'm not aware of. Maybe you'd like to enter but have no time to scout for caps. Fine, I'll do more cap challenges! And so on. But please let me know if you have any issues.

It's always hard to keep a comm alive after the series has died out, I never thought we'd ever close aimtomisbehave but I think we can at least keep flying a little while longer before sending the ships into the sun, and you guys are the only ones who can help with that. By entering, and also by reccing this comm to other people you think should be members, or rec icon makers directly to me, I'm always on the lookout for new members of this fleet so let me know if there's someone you tink should be here! Previous members are always welcome back, as long as they feel they have the time to enter.

Stockholm Syndrome is a psychological response sometimes seen in abducted hostages, in which the hostage shows signs of loyalty to the hostage-taker, regardless of the danger or risk in which they have been placed. One theory to explain the Stockholm syndrome is cognitive dissonance. Specifically, people don't like being unhappy for long periods of time, but when people are kidnapped for a long period of time, they will be unhappy for that time, unless they come to love their captors. Thus, to resolve the cognitive dissonance, the victim may begin to identify with the captors.

The Stockholm Syndrome is a psychological shift that occurs in captives when they are threatened gravely but are shown acts of kindness by their captors. Captives who exhibit the syndrome tend to sympathize with and think highly of their captors, at times believing that the captors are showing them favor stemming from inherent kindness. Such captives fail to recognize that their captors' choices are essentially self-serving. Smiing yet, K/L shippers? ;) Yes, of course Kara & Leoben are the obvious card, but if you think hard enough and have a little imagination, I'm sure you can come up with all sorts if Stockholm Syndrome-y pairings! This challenge is open for interpretation, meaning anything goes -- but if it's not blatanty obvious, please do explain yourself in your icon post. ;)

If you know you haven't entered in a while please do so with this challenge cause I'm making the November Airlock list this weekend! Please help keep the comm alive by participating in the challenges.
