Is it totally self-centered to start an LJ community devoted to your own work? Oh yeah! Why bother doing it otherwise? I suspect most good writers suffer from some form of megalomania. I mean, come on: we think we can create and/or maintain an entire universe, complete with fictional inhabitants, imagined interactions, and real Deep Meaning, by ourselves. From nothing but our own experience.
That's crazy! We must be deluded! Or schizophrenic... Or just Deeply Troubled. Luckily, writing seems to keep us off the streets, so thank goodness for self-regulating insanity. I think it's made my life marginally more stable. To gather more data on this possibility, I started this community so that I would be forced to verbalize the process and analyze the effect of writing on my life (and vice versa).
Despite the name of the community, you can post or comment about any fic-related thing you want. I'm basically here to talk about ME and what I write and what writing means to me, but the journal's open to anyone and you're free to talk about what you write/read and why if you're so moved.
