AboutWhy Stargate_Women?
This group was inspired by the Women of Stargate website. We suggest you visit the gals that inspired as well as add us and the women of stargate news feed to your livejournal!
Both the characters and the actors.
The women of SG-1 and Atlantis might “just” be fictional characters to some, but for us these gals are heroes who embody “grace under pressure” and have helped stretch the boundaries of scifi leading ladies. We love them, we love to talk about them, make icons, write stories -- you name it. And shall we talk about the villians? You bet! We just love to hate these women. Whether its Osiris, Linnea or any of the numerous hellions, we’ll take them on any day plus we want more of them. And if you love these show and these women, then we know you probably feel the same way about the talented actors who portray them!
What will this group be/do/discuss/inspire?!
We plan on having this group be a little bit of everything related to the women of stargate. Episode discussions, icons, graphics, fiction links, drabbles, graphics and of course contests. We plan to start out with one contest/challenge a month and we have a few ideas already lined up. If all involved want more – we’ll gladly up the pace! Thus far there are only two rules:
1. Keep it friendly! No flaming for any reason.
2. Keep spoilers behind an lj-cut

lornyloo and zephyrrs discovered each other through the stagate_icons community. Zephmeister snagged several icons from the Lornster and they friended each other. Then, lornyloo mentioned in her journal that she wanted to start a community but was searching for a concept. Meanwhile, zephyrrs had the concept and was trying to figure out where to start. The rest is fandom history…or should we say herstory!

Cap Challenge: Icon/Friends Only banner
This is the first challenge involving a cap and you the memebers to make something graphical and pretty.
Rules
+ animations welcome
+ use only this cap
+ don't use any other stargate images or images from other shows etc. stock images are welcome
+ post your entry as a seperate post and title it Icon Challenge 1
+ please inclue the url of your image
+ you can submit up to 2 icons and 2 FO banners
The icons will be rounded up 2 weeks from today (15th October) with the new challenge being posted the same day
