Also, since everybody on the entire internet needs to know my last name (for the like, two people who don't already), I will demonstrate fanbadges from Facebook on [info]stanfordwank:

They seem to act up if you put them really close to the top of the page, so I'm just going to type some nonsense until I can get down low enough so that I get over the ridiculous fuckery and I can have some pretty, pretty badges. Because they are pretty, pretty badges.

La la la...

Badges are pretty, pretty, pretty.

I can has pretty, pretty badges?

Yes! I CAN HAS pretty, pretty badges!

And also intranetz! I can win intranetz!

Ladeda...

Ugh, you know what? Fuck it. The badges are under cuts. I don't know what was making them go all wonky, but I am not sure they were going to fix. But they're more for profiles than LJs anyway, so that's all right.

How I Got Lost )

Runaway )

Let's all put these WHEREVER WE POSSIBLY CAN, OKAY??? I mean, they're cute little badges, and would look nice right on your LJ profile page, right? (Though, they're a lot cuter if you tweak the width to 17% and 15% instead of keeping them at the full 100%.)

Here is where you go to make them. You can make them for anything. Make tons! I am a fan of something like 60 things on Facebook, so, I could pretty much fill up my entire LJ profile. Just make sure that Runaway and HIGL are two of them!

XO!

Hey Ya'll...

Bill True says:

Hey, gals--*

RUNAWAY is now up on Netflix. You can go over NOW and add it to your queue by clicking THIS LINK --

http://www.netflix.com/Movie/Runaway/70128546?trkid=226871

If you've already seen it, can you click over anyway and, you know, add it to your queue anyway? Even more important, can you rate it and maybe even type a little review note like, "It's the best damned movie ever"?

The movie needs an average 3.5 rating to get in Netlix's "recommend" system.

Thanks, as always, for your support.

Bill True

Do what he says, because if [info]stanfordwank had gods, he would for serious be one of them.

Yes, I am not clever today. I am aware of that. I actually had to leave work early for lack of being clever.

Sadface for my life, right?

Anyway, help out Runaway, cross your fingers that everything goes perfectly for it for more reasons than just because Stanford is in it.

Help, you guys!

XO
Ashe

*No offense meant! I think I might be the only person who knows we have dudes, and that is probably only b/c I stalkhave checked up on you off-site.

Today marks the 5th anniversary of the day that [info]stanfordwank came into existence.

It has been a long, interesting ride.

Maybe too interesting. =)

Special thanks to all of you, and to all of the industry folk and other sources who have taken the time out of their schedules to e-mail me back, who gave us the rights to pictures and confirmed dates. Do you remember before the wiki page was updated, you guys? I mean.. For serious. Also thanks to Stanford for not pulling a Jensen Ackles and having a cease and desist on our asses like.. Three years ago or something.

Blah blah lots of sentiment, How I Got Lost won Best Narrative Fiction Feature at the Red Rock Film Festival and there's a video about HIGL from some news station in MO. Also, become a fan of HIGL and Runaway on Facebook already!

Good morning [info]stanfordwank! My reality is so skewed, I swear to god.. But maybe that's what happens when you stay awake for sixteen hours and then drink the same amount of alcohol as you you've had tequila: really fucked up sleep.

I got to talk to our BFF Joe Leonard about HIGL for a second last night. He is ridiculous. As in, it is ridiculous that human beings that sweet and gracious exist. I mean.. I've lived in Kentucky all of my life, and I've heard a lot about southern charm, but apparently someone has been taking all the nice people and shipping them out west, because um, let me tell you...

I heard a couple of like, mini stories about Stanford, and I could've pried for you guys, and I'm sorry, but I didn't. I just feel like you know, how he was to work with might be my business a little bit, but I don't want to walk up to people's family's and be all, "Hey I'm that girl that's up in Aaron's" (also it is yet to be determined whether I can actually refer to the dude as Aaron--only time will tell, I suppose) "business because in that space where I should have a social life, I am busy sitting alone in a little room selling kids' shoes. TELL ME EVERYTHING OMG!!!" Because those personal stories about he interacts with people on a daily basis are like.. Not mine to post on the internet.

I know, skewed morals are skewed, right? I'm a member of ONTD (mostly for the advertising potential, but also to defend Miley Cyrus because I can't help but love that girl and also because I feel the constant need to be caught up). I should be all about talking about people behind their backs on the internet. But you know. I can't necessarily do it. At least not when I'm going to get caught.

Anyway. Someone else I met for a second last night was Carolyn Miller. She's a director who has a film in the SLIFF, called Under Still Waters that I, toolishly forgetting that other films existed, missed out on, but suspect is pretty bad ass, think everyone should check out. It's actually already racked up some impressiveness internationally but is sadly misrepresented on the interwebz, unless I am just looking in the wrong place (which I doubt, unless facebook, myspace, and google are the wrong place). But I am just an easy sell and if I meet you and you are bad ass and you have a movie or some girl scout cookies or something to pimp, I'm going to help you out. I do wish I could find a website for this film, though. I hate linking to IMDB. I feel like I'm half-assing it.

But on the plus side, I think it might have distribution over seas, and I know we've got some of ya'll over there so.

Anyway. Carolyn Miller has officially become a friend of [info]stanfordwank by A) liking Stanford's performance and saying very very nice things about him as an actor and by B) understanding that Let the Right One In is too awesome for words.

Anyway. Roommate is awake. Hotel check out time in like. An hour. There's some Q&A later we might hit up, then walk around St. Louis looking far less colorful than yesterday (we are too colorful for Kentucky, too, tbh).

More info later if I have any. Not that I'm sure any of this is relevant to anyone but me.. But at this point, you have got to know that I overshare. Have you met me?

X...

So... We made it to St. Louis in the Murdermobile. Met Joe Leonard in the lobby and he gave us (Roommate and I) tickets and we went to see the film. Joe is like.. Extraordinarily sweet to degrees I won't even say because it'll just come over ridiculous and it totes not our style. ;-)

Anyway.. How I Got Lost was pretty epic. I mean... It was good. Stanford was at his best, which is strange, because I keep hearing he's a nice guy but he seems to be at his best when he's a like.. Crazy douchebag type. But he was seriously so good. But so was everyone else.

It's a good film, and I'm sure you'll all see it soon because I doubt it's going to have any trouble getting distribution.

Probably there will be more later but I am kind of not totally coherent now or ever. I mean. I think I get less coherent the older I get. It's like brain cells die. I wish there was a vaccine I could get that would make me stop talking. For reals, yo.

XOXO

Hey you guys! I'm currently in St. Louis, sitting in the Tivoli theatre, waiting to see HIGL.

More later gtg!!

Dear [info]stanfordwank:

It is 5:12am on a Saturday morning, and normal people are either asleep or haven't went to bed yet. I, on the other hand, have just gotten out of the shower and am getting ready to drive 5 hours to St. Louis for the St. Louis International Film Festival, where How I Got Lost will be playing.

More later, possibly.

Did I post about the new review of HIGL from Austin yet? It's here. Also, I'm going to the St. Louis Film Festival. Let me know if you're going, too, so we can say hi, or something. I am less (insert negative adjective of your choice) in person, promise!

And hey! Why haven't you guys become a fan of Runaway on Facebook!?!?!? I know we don't have that many active members, but I recognize way too many people on there as people who aren't from [info]stanfordwank. It's an amazing film and it has under 200 fans! Can't we at least get it 300?

Bill True has been so amazing and supportive and has given us so many pictures and remember two years ago around this time? On our third year anniversary when he gave us the short story that Runaway was based off of?

[info]stanfordwank will have been active for five years on the 16th of November. I would love it if we could celebrate by maybe using our journals and our twitters and our Facebooks to get the word out about Runaway to see if we could get people to support the film.

There are some clips up on the Facebook and the Myspace, even though the myspace is pretty dead. Here's one of the clips, where Stanford is pretty impressive:

Fragile Kid

Runaway | MySpace Video

Help me out, you guys! Most of you have been around long enough to know I'm not going to let this die. Runaway needs to be relevant like... ASAP and by any means necessary. If anyone wants to make an "I Support Runaway" button or icon, please do!

And don't forget to become a fan on facebook and post a link to the fanpage so all of your other facebook friends can become fans, too!

Thanks, you guys.

Please look for a long gushy entry about five years and what [info]stanfordwank means to me later in the week.

Kisses!

Stanford won an award for How I Got Lost. Here is an article about it. It's pretty cool. You can the the picture of it all smudgy that [info]paquin took in her post about meeting Stanford and Joe Leonard. I like that it's all smudgy because it says something really profound and metaphorical about the ~state of celebrity~ and the ~fallibility of imposed image~ and also how neurotic the glass giant doors at work with tiny child fingerprints on them have made me and how much I require pocket sized Windex to occur now. (Also that I am ~one of those~ douchebags who can make a ~statement~ out of anything and clearly should have stopped talking something like five years ago.)

Ermm.. Anyway! Thanks (once again) to How I Got Lost's Facebook/Twitter for the info.

Tonight I attended another screening of How I Got Lost where I met Joe Leonard once more and Aaron Stanford for the first time. He was very kind and agreed to do an interview for Aaron Stanford Online. I am unsure about when this will happen, but I will keep you updated. Aaron also won the NY Emerging Talent Award at the Big Apple Film Festival tonight. A photo of his award can be viewed below.

The aviator sunglasses of douchebagdom are famous, ya'll. Well, I mean, I doubt they're the same glasses, but they remain douchey.

And pink tinted.

Oh universe, never change.

Thanks to Ashe for letting me post this here. Apparently http://aaron-stanford.net was hacked and had a malware script inserted into the main page, which led to it getting blacklisted by Google. I have already remedied the issue and asked Google to whitelist the page, but unfortunately I don't know how long this is going to take. Thankfully nothing was lost, which is a major relief since the site just turned 5.

Stanford and Joe Leonard are going to The Big Apple Film Festival where How I Got Lost will be the closing night film @ 8:50 on Saturday November 7. Tickets available at the door. I think they're giving Stanford an award. Or well, I know they're giving Stanford an award, but I don't know which award, because I found this out via gchat when my boss was in the room with me and I was trying to nonchalantly text, chat, sell kids' shoes, and not get fired from my job that I'd rather not have anyway.

Also, did you know that it takes 40 muscles to smile and only 4 to shoot a decent gun? I work retail and find this information harmful. Never let anyone tell you that twitter isn't harmful. Because it really, really is.

In more HIGL news: there is some event that I don't really understand on Friday in LA. You are all very unique and special and I'm your reading comprehension spells are exemplary.
Here is a link to the Facebook. It's something to do with dead celebrities and fund raising and it's really cold in here and I don't even really know if I am supposed to like this here but we only get like 20 visitors and only one of them is from LA so anyway.

Oh, also. HIGL will also be showing at the St Louis International Film Festival. Joe Leonard will be there. And so will Monica and I. Barring pain of death or some other disaster.

Annnd.. While we're here... The Runaway Fanpage go there.

Wow. I'm fairly sure this post makes little to no sense. I have frozen my brain into a state of near catatonia. My electric bill was 75 dollars so I'm not turning the heat on. Clearly, I am a very special sort of genius. (The kind that ends up in the emergency room with hypothermia.)

XO ya'll!

Tiny mention of tiny stanford in this SF Chronicle article on "scary movies"  Notice that aaron is central to what the reviewer liked best.

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2009/02/08/PKQC15I2MO.DTL

Sorry to take so long to share it. The article was reprinted in a newspaper in whatever city I was in at the time. I cut it out and stuck it in my laptop backpack. Numerous trips later I finally acknowledged that said backpack was rather cluttered, cleaned it out and refound the article.

One more review of How I Got Lost, this time from Variety.com

They liked...much of it and roundly complimented Stanford's performance.

Also I've noticed discussion and posts by community members has dwindled significantly over the past little while, so I'd like to hold a little poll in the comments section of this post. You can comment anonymously if you like, but we're looking for any and all thoughts on the status of our community.

For instance:
Why do you read/visit [info]stanfordwank?
When did you join and why?
Do you comment often? Why or why not?
What do you like the least about the community?
What do you like the most?
What do you think about the layout? Userinfo?
And most importantly, what are your absolute all-time Top 5 favourite things about Aaron Stanford?

Discuss.

There's another articleup about How I Got Lost</a>. It's mostly an interview with Joe Leonard, but he talks about Stanford for a second. It's complimentary. I suspect it would be complimentary even if it wasn't, but I think it probably is completely is. Wow. That sentence doesn't even make any sense!

Anyway, moving on. The people at The Cake Eaters (follow them on twitter or become a fan on facebook, btw) have a poll up to see if they should campaign Kristen's performance for an Oscar. She was amazing in that film. So, vote here: http://cakeeatersmovie.blogspot.com/ and tell everyone you know to do the same.

Oh, also... The nice folks at Vinylfoote, who are in a way related to Cake Eaters, are working on a new film, called Tiny Dancer. It's still in pre-production, but they've been really, really kind to [info]stanfordwank so it'd be really cool if you could all become a fan of Tiny Dancer on facebook to show your gratitude and support.

While you're there, make sure you've become a fan of Runaway and How I Got Lost on Facebook, as well!

Thanks, Clemence! (I am sorry for leaving the accent off the e. I have a Mac now and no longer know how to do that. =()

You guys! Our BFF Bill True left us a message on my last post!

Also, if ya'll order Runaway on Amazon, the first 500 people who do so will get a signed script from Bill. Which is ridiculous nice. What is wrong with him? Doesn't he know we're mean, here?

Everybody put on your mean face. Can I get a group grrrr or something?

Okay, maybe not! I apologize for being uberlame.

Anyway, kidlets, I really need you to become a fan of Runaway on Facebook. It is a major thing. People could DIE, you know? Okay. People won't die. But I REQUIRE is. Please? Pretty please? Pretty please with X2 memorabilia on top?

Runaway, you guys. It is both a privilege and a right!

Ashe

P.S. Can we have a moment of silence for the fact that I had to use the spellcheck to figure out "privilege"? ....... Thank you.

Hey you guys!

The Runaway Facebook Page is up and full of pictures and links and stuff! Go BECOME A FAN AND STRONGLY ENCOURAGE EVERYONE THAT YOU KNOW TO DO SO AS WELL! I AM NOT JOKING. VIRAL MARKETING IS VIRAL SO MAKE THIS SHIT HAPPEN.

In other news: It would probably be easier to tell you what How I Got Lost WASN'T doing. It's seriously bordering on ridiculous. Can I just get a release date already?

Anyway, they won Best Narrative at Moondance, were mentioned in this article, and will be at the Austin Film Festival.

Actually, go here to view everything that How I Got Lost is up to. It's a lot. Like. A lot a lot. Words can't even being to describe to say how a lot. So go see for yourself.

And while you're over there, become a fan of Runaway's fanpage!
