I quite liked this episode.  So much so that I didn't get distracted by the pretty nearly as much as I tend to get when watching this season.  And I think that this week I can safely conclude that this was a plot-orientated episode.  It was a very thought-provoking episode and our guest character was well drawn.

Anyway. Matthew McFadyen in Criminal Justice (fuck me, his voice, omg), David Oyelowo in Small Island, and a very brief shot of Spooks right at the end (it's only two minutes long), which is only spoilery if you haven’t seen 708.

What’s happened to Raza Jaffrey, people? DO’s all over the place, but he seems to have disappeared.

(ETA: apart from Mistresses - whixh I try not to think about - not much, although he has got some upcoming stuff)

ETA2: Explanation of what is in the trailer behind the cut for those who can't view it (it's really not that exciting)

End series 7 spoilers )

Chapter Thirty-Five

Lucas was going to speak of his inspired revenge but the words stuck in his throat.  He was captivated peering over her shoulder with rapt fascination putting his free hand on her hip as she covered his hand with both of hers. Slowly straightening up, Lori guided his hand with the ice cube up her chest on to her neck and then over the chin finally landing on her lips leaving behind a wet trail that made her skin glisten.

When I started this review, I thought that this episode was more about plot, and with only a little character development.  Turns out that I was wrong, and I was able to pull out quite a bit of character-related points.

So this week my review covers the plot, and character developments for Ben, Ros and Lucas.

After banging my head against my computer, which failed to record all of episode 2 on Monday night, I've finally managed to write my review.  It's a bit longer that last week's review, but I blame that on there being a lot of Lucas action.

Jo, Zaf, Zoe, Danny, and a post-5.05 AU. That is, an AU in which series 1 exists in parallel time. Trust me, it works.

1,400 words. Spoilers 1.01 & 5.05. General silliness. Many thanks to [info]londonsophie for the beta and to the brilliant [info]lost_spook for the prompt. (Although it now bears little resemblance to the prompt!)

Chapter Thirty-Four

Lori opened the door gesturing and saying, “You first, you are the one with your hands full.”

Lucas asked as he walked in to the flat nodding towards the box, “Would you like this on the dining table or in the kitchen?”

She’d been thinking about creating their own little Oriental getaway on the walk up the stairs so Lori said with a grin as she followed him in and closed door, “There’s always a third option.”

Season 7 of Spooks has just begun airing here in Australia, so I find that I'm in need of an outlet.  So I have reviewed the episode at my journal - there's a bit of rambling, a bit of RA-love, and only slightly longish - for anyone who's interested.

I also have a question because before posting my review I read a recap that [info]hestia8 did last year that includes a scene that happened just before the title sequence.  The version we saw on Monday night went straight from the solider being thrown into the van to the titles.  Did we miss a scene?

A new series of That Mitchell and Webb Look started last night, including a Spooks spoof that starts about 21 minutes in:

“You can’t research a spy drama because it’s all secret. I mean, that’s the one thing that’s not secret.”

(also worth a watch is the post apocalyptic quiz show)

And I’d been told about this, but never actually seen it before – the Dead Ringers Spooks spoof:

Kudos are on the good drugs again…

One of the writers of Pulling (BBC3 comedy) has written an episode of Spooks.

"Expect Ros to get pissed and end up in a threesome with Malcolm and Harry,"

http://www.guardian.co.uk/culture/garethmcleanblog/2009/may/15/television

I want to see this episode now.
