This is the Society for the Proliferation of Obscure Occult Knowledge, Online. Basically, this journal is for discussion when we can't actually physically meet, but we're gonna forget the question or idea we had before the next time we see each other in person or in instant messaging. The main purposes of our existance (assuming the existance of purpose--which is admittedly a big assumption) are for armchair philosophy and metaphysics, with an interest in inspiring a world occultist movement.

No, the occult is not about devil-worshipping, Satanism, or anything of the like. It simply refers to relitavely clouded practices and knowledge about how the world really works on a metaphysical level. Yes, there are Christian occultists. There are occultists in every religion, as without the occult, religion is quite pointless and dead. Why else would you fall asleep in the middle of your standard Protestant worship service? They don't use any of the energetic symbolism you see in other traditions--that and the people in charge don't really know what they're talking about.

Generally, we're fun-loving people, but we must ask that you be of the age of consent in your country to join, simply because we want to make sure that we're not corrupting the youth or anything. We don't particularly want to drink hemlock, as suicide is generally bad for your health.
