About:Are you a Liberal Spiritual Parent? No matter what your spiritual practice may be, if you are open minded, and feel that we all have a right to choose our religious and spiritual paths, you might be a Liberal Spiritual Parent. If you agree that our children should also be granted the right to explore and choose their own religious path(s), then you might be a Liberal Spiritual Parent. If you feel that no one religion is right for everyone, then you might be a Liberal Spiritual Parent. If you value diversity and tolerance you might be a Liberal Spiritual Parent.

I would expect to find many UU parents, NeoPagan Parents, Progressive Christian and Jewish Parents, interfaith families and more than a few "Nones". (A "None" is someone who has spiritual beliefs but doesn't belong to a particular religion.) All family structures are welcome here: GLBT, polyamorous, single parent, or adoption. Love defines a family, not gender or marriage status!

The focus of this forum is to talk about the issues of helping our children experience spirituality, religious education, teaching tolerance and preparing for intolerance, and many things I probably haven't considered as of yet.

The most important rule here is RESPECT! We can agree to disagree, and we should NOT expect Liberal Spiritual Parents to all agree on anything.

Some discussion ideas:

1) Post a spiritual question that your child has asked you. Please include your child's age for age appropriate responses.
2) Post a review of a book (or other product) related to spiritual parenting, religious education, or religious literacy either for youths or adults.
3) Discuss your spiritual goals for your kids.
4) Post about your spiritual home's youth religious education, the joys and the concerns.
5) Post about an article you read relating to parenting and/or religion.
