REPLACEMENT AUDITIONS [20 Jun 2009|12:04am] arqueete A cast member just had to drop, and since we are short I'm holding replacement auditions Tomorrow, Saturday June 20th at 4 PM PST at the theater (58 Barton 001221) where I'm hoping to at the least find one more person to add to our cast. Should you be cast, you'd be expected to then join the cast at their rehearsal at 5 PST and the remaining dress rehearsals. You can find some more information on auditioning for GTC here. Calling All Spring Awakening Fans [19 Apr 2009|02:20pm] arqueete I posted this at my personal journal and I thought I'd open it up for discussion here as well: If you could reconstruct Spring Awakening -- bring back cut songs, cut certain songs, etc -- how would YOU change it? What do you think GTC should do with it -- are there things you think we could change or bring back to make it more entertaining for a text-only online audience? Also, right now it's a 9 actor show (Melchior, Wendla, Moritz, Ilse, Hanschen, Ernst, Martha, Adult Men, Adult Women) and I don't want to add in a 10th actor but I'd really like to bring back Thea (in the script as it was, Wendla took most of her lines), so if anyone wants to help me brainstorm ways to do that that'd be great. (Basically, we have 9 people available throughout the show -- they don't necessarily need to be playing the same character at all times, but they can't (technically they can, but I'm not willing to write the script that way) play more than one character at once, and it helps if they have a decent chunk of time to switch characters if necessary) 2 comments|post comment

Cast for Matinee [11 Apr 2009|11:55pm] arqueete Evening show was canceled after meeting several criteria, none of which involved missing actors or any problems on our part. That's a success, at least. Matinee went fine! Here was the cast. Elphaba - *Ceribri Glinda - N00dl3s Fiyero - Sergeant Fluffykins Nessarose - Small Sakura Madame Morrible - *TrChSpHa Boq/Chistery - *Arqueete Dr. Dillamond - *Cascara The Wizard - *Cascara Hope tomorrow goes well. Even if this is now one and a half shows canceled, I'm not feeling like our comeback is not successful -- all of the problems we're encountering that are making us cancel are Gaia problems and not problems with us, and that we were even able to get this very successful single show done in a timely manner shows that we have come a long way toward returning to where we were in the past in terms of efficiency. post comment

GTC IS ON THE YOUTUBES! [08 Feb 2009|02:18am] arqueete [ mood | sleepy ] Have you heard about our NEW YOUTUBE CHANNEL?! We're using it, thus far, to post up FULL VIDEOS OF SHOWS. Yes. That's right. All those videos I've taken of performances? I'M FINALLY DOING SOMETHING USEFUL WITH THEM. So now actors can relive their greatest and not so great moments in some of our past shows and the general public can see GTC shows ON DEMAND. Pretty nice substitute while we're not giving live shows, amirite? Thus far I've got up: Spring Awakening (final performance) as requested by Tristan and the first act of Avenue Q (morning cast final performance) as requested by several people. I am working on doing annotation commentary on Spring Awakening for your enjoyment or possible annoyance (you can turn annotations off, you know). So go check it out. Subscribe. Comment.
