AboutSpeak Out is a community for those who would like to be informed and speak out for what they beleive is right.
This community is a peace and justice action center. It is a forum to share information, especially news that the US or mainstream media ignore or put in a little tiny blurb on the bottom of page 12.
This is not the correct forum for people with dissenting opinions. There are many other forums for that discussion. Remember, when you post here, you are preaching to the choir. We are simply sharing news and points of action.
Try to provide links or back up your source of information. If you link to an article, please cut, paste, and lj cut it also. This is because some of the news articles expire after a certain period of time.
What makes this forum different is that you are *strongly* encouraged to provide links to e-mails, telephone numbers, addresses, or other information that can help us take action for this cause. Or, if you don't know what action you can take to speak out, protest, or otherwise be involved, post here and others can help you.
So often, people whine about the state of the country, the world, or an injustice but do not take action to change it.
This community is for commiseration, but not without action, too.
