spanishvocab is a community designed to help Spanish language learners expand their vocabularies and knowledge of Spanish (and Latin American) culture. The focus here is mostly on Spanish from Spain but we will also try to cater for those learning South American dialects.A wide variety of sources can be used for the teaching of Spanish vocabulary, including excerpts from news articles and links to useful websites. The vocabulary covered ranges from 'business' Spanish to slang and words related to contemporary news items.
All members are welcome to add their own vocabulary lists or post links to relevant websites, and members are also free to make requests for vocabulary on certain subjects.
While those who have a good grasp of the Spanish language will benefit most from this community, beginners are also welcome to join.
Community Rules
1) Posts can be in English, Spanish or both.
2) The normal rules of community behaviour apply.
3) No spamming, flaming or posting of illegal material.
4) Stay on topic. This community is for learning new words and terms. Questions on grammar, verb conjugation and any other issues are best directed to another community.
5) Please use LJ cuts if your post is on the large side or are using images.
6) This community is for all ages so please try to keep swearing and the posting of offensive slang to a minimum.
7) If using material from another website and/or copyrighted material, please list your source(s).
8) If you want to advertise your community, please make sure it is relevant to this community and only post a link to it once. Anyone not following this rule may have their post deleted or edited.
9) If there are any mistakes, please report them in a civil manner by replying to the post in question.
Helping Out
Native Spanish speakers or anyone else with a good command of the Spanish language are welcome to help out the community by posting their own word lists or similar items of interest. Even if you won't learn anything new at this community, you can help others boost their Spanish abilities and helping the community maintainer a bit!
