Work and life got very very interesting and a bunch of new projects cropped up.
Drawing needs to take a higher priority though!

And starting this weekend it will!

No update today, I’ve been in kinda a cloud all last week, mostly drowsy and in general not feeling it.

I have been working on the cover and a very awkward retooling of page 9. I hope to have something up mid week, or at the very least, have the cover and page 9 up next monday.

I’m also working on a new blog at brooklynbombshell.com. I will report more when I’ve got it up.

My birthday is on the 24th and I hope to have some stuff to be bragging about (at least to myself :D) when that day arrives.

As for now: gym membership, taxes, diary comic, wordpress install rejigger. Oh, and awesome comicspace.com.

This is the nonsense song that I learned in Girlscouts when I was about 5 or 6. (Along with a ton of other girls )
I’ve just always liked it, and then decided to give the name to one of my lead characters in Spades, only with a different spelling.
According to Wikianswers: “Though the song is Dutch in origin, the “words” are just nonsense. They are supposed to be approximations of the sounds a spinning wheel makes when being used.

The song has some superstition tied to it as the mothers used it when their daughters were learning to spin and it was supposed to bring luck allowing the girl to become a good seamstress and marry a good man. ”

This isn’t verified, so I’m still looking around.

There are two new links above in the menu bar as of yesterday.
The galleries which are housing all kinda of nostalgic art (soon to be replaced with newer current art hopefully!) and the Cast page with character portraits and information.

The Extras section is also very sparse right now, but in there you can listen to the (imaginary) Spades Soundtrack, courtesy of the OpenTape app. Wallpapers will be going up shortly, and LJ icons and older links buttons are there now.

The NYCC is coming up fast. Who’s gonna be there?

Welcome back to the No Name City!

This is the soft relaunch of Spades! (please consider this a “beta” of sorts, because I’m still cleaning up and moving content from the old site.)
I’m redrawing books 1-3, so if you’re returning, you’re in for more surprises, and if you’re new to Spades, welcome! You’re just in time!
