( Seemed Like A Good Idea at the Time )
( Five comics! (Three to end the recent arc, two one-shots.) )
I'm not dead, but not for lack of trying . . .
A brief summary of the last two months:
- Kicked in the drawing hand, unable to hold a pencil for two weeks.
- About half the people I work with were out for a variety of reasons (fired, left for better jobs, transferred to other stores, out with surgery.) I've been working 40+ hours a week as a part timer.
- I got a promotion\transfer type deal. I'm going from part time to full time, and from one of the smaller stores in the company to one of the top three. (Oh God, I am going to die!)
- Sinus infection pretty much kept me out of commission for a week.
- My car died. The "It's dead, Jim" dead, not the "Scotty, when will it be up and running? I cannae say captain, Ah need more powerrrr!" kind. That has made life interesting.
That being said, I have about 20 comics in varying states of completion. I start my new job on Monday, so I'm going to spend all my free time over the weekend getting them as complete as I can. Starting Tuesday, September 2, I'm going to try to update three times a week, on time, for as long as I can. With about a month of comics done ahead of time, I'm hoping to get on a regular schedule again . . . We'll see how long it lasts this time.
I'm also thinking of just posting whatever I have when it comes time to post comics, weather it's pencil, ink or full color, then fixing it later on. (My only concern for that is "what are the odds I'll go back and fix it up?" . . . )
So Tuesday should bring at least three comics (two finishing up the arc that should have been finished about a month ago, and then one new one.)
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go stand in a cooler for six hours and try not to kill myself.
I've started uploading the finished comics from my "busted hand" backlog . . . I colored the most recent (July 5th) update, and uploaded two new comics. (I also fixed the background for comic 155, which was on partial opacity because I'm a bit of a 'tard . . . . )
( Comics under the cut )
More to come tomorrow or Monday. Regular on-time updates soon. (Seriously . . .)
Well, I'm not yet dead. (I can dance and I can sing . . . *ahem*) I haven't updated in almost three weeks now, due to a mix of injuries and work. About three weeks ago now, I was kicked in my drawing hand while at Tae Kwon Do, and I couldn't really hold a pencil until about a week ago. Also, I've been insanely busy at work. June\July is pretty much the busiest time of the year at my job, outside of Christmas and Thanksgiving. (It's a downside of working at a grocery store. Holidays are insanely busy.) So even though I'm part-time, I've pretty much been working full-time the last few weeks. And now, there's a full-time position open at another store, and I'm hoping to get that. Either way, things should settle down over the next few weeks, allowing me to get back to regular updates.
That being said, Tuesday and Wednesday, I sat down and drew three-and-a-half weeks worth of comics, and started coloring them. Tonight, after I get home from work, I'm going to try and finish coloring them, and I'll upload them all. I'll be caught up, and there will be nine or ten new comics that should have been up over the last few weeks.
Status of the comics as of 12pm, Thursday: out of nine comics, one is completed and eight have the "flats" done. That basically means the characters are colored, but not shaded. The shading and backgrounds are pretty easy, unless there's a lot of little details. Unfortunately, two of them have actual backgrounds. (Luckily though, they're not that bad.)
Hopefully, these'll all be up by Friday morning.
Update: 2:30 AM - Backgrounds are done for nine and a half of the ten comics. The detailed background is giving me trouble, and I'm seeing double. (Sounds like a cue for Team Rocket . . . ) I'll try finishing before work tomorrow, if all else fails, tomorrow night.
( Dramatic Drama (warning: Comic is larger than usual.) )

So, yeah, you may have noticed I haven't updated Sockpuppet Asylum in quite some time. That's because I've given up on the "comic based on my life" comic. It really wasn't fun to do anymore.
That's why I'm doing this instead:
The Cow (A superhero comic).
Yeah, I brought The Cow back, and I'm putting a lot more effort into doing it.
Also, you can comment right on the comics, and there's a RSS feed, so this LJ thing is essentially unneeded.
But I figured I should let people know, just in case they stumble across this or something.
