ROLEPLAYING AND CHARACTER GUIDELINES

APPLICATION
When applying for a character, please fill out the form in a concise yet descriptive manner. Tell us how well you know your character, yet try not to go overboard on the length (though we do understand how some character histories just require a long length for their history). Quality over quantity is what we're looking for. Non-mods MUST wait for application approval before posting with their character in the game or else the application will be automatically declined. Mods, while exempt from the approval process (otherwise there would be nobody else to approve the application), will still be required to type an application and post it to the application area.

Reservations for characters ARE accepted and the holding period will last for two weeks before the character is considered to be "up for grabs" once again.

LOCATIONS
When a character first arrives, they can find themselves anywhere on the known map. Travel to far-off locations can be coordinated by skyports in any towns or seaports in coastal towns and towns generally near any body of water.

ROLEPLAYING
Roleplaying takes place both via character journals and in [info]spacial_logs. Character journals are written just like any journal post while roleplaying scenes in third person narrative is to be done in the log community.

One day = one day in the RP, but journal and roleplay logs are permitted to backdate when necessary.

MISSIONS
Bounty hunts, rescue and exploration expeditions, and other such missions are posted weekly on [info]sr_bulletin. To claim a mission, simply reply to the designated comments in the bulletin posts.

Missions, as is participating in an exploration or rescue team, are entirely optional and are simply present to offer an opportunity for activity and sometimes even plot and character development. Even characters not involved in guilds or teams may participate, though certain missions will be resticted to the general public.

SPECIES
Characters may enter the world as any Pokemon species so long as the species suits their personality and/or abilities. Legendary Pokemon are treated as unique and god/demigod-like and are as such not playable or applicable and shining Pokemon are treated as plot devices and are non-applicable. See below for more details regarding shiny Pokemon.

ALTERNATE COLORATION, SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS, AND SHINIES
Characters may sport a slightly different coloration than the species's norm so long as it's within reason and suits the character. After all, if purple Kecleons and a pink Butterfree exist in canon, it would make sense for a few other Pokemon to take on a differing color. We simply ask that alternate coloration is done in moderation, and if we ever feel it's getting out of hand then we'll begin approving alternate colors on a case-by-case basis. Pokemon that have minor alternate tints, shades, etc. are in the clear as well.

In this game, shining Pokemon are only considered shiny by the glimmering aura they give off. As the coloration itself is merely a cosmetic difference, the coloration of a Pokemon's shiny form may be used, but may not, by this game's definition, be defined as an actual shining Pokemon.

Physical characteristics will pass down to the Pokemon the character becomes. Scars, tattoos, birthmarks, eyte color, etc. remain in place and even jewelry and other small, defining accessories can be carried over if the player chooses. Weapons, however, will not remain with the character with the exception of a Pokemon that naturally weilds a weapon such as Farfetch'd or Cubone- in such a case, the weilded item would reflect the weapon previously weilded by the character, only without any special powers it may have had.

MOVES
Levels do not apply in this game, so characters have access to their entire movepools (including Egg Moves) with the EXCEPTION of the advanced moves Blast Burn, Hydro Cannon, Frenzy Plant, and Draco Meteor. However, more powerful attacks will drain energy faster and are far more difficult to control than weaker attacks are, so plenty of practice is required to learn how to manage such attacks. Training Dojos located in towns across the map are ideal places for daily training. Most character abilities and skills will transfer over to the Pokemon world with moves and abilities that resemble them and will reflect how well they can use a certian attack. Characters who are normally skilled in controlling an elemental magic such as fire will have an easier time adapting to the use of fire-type moves than someone who had no magical or special ability at all. Characters with godlike abilities and immense power will have their powers toned down significantly.

TM moves are regularly not a part of the character's primary movepool. The only exceptions apply to Pokemon characters that canonically know a move not learned by level-up (such as Grovyle the Outlaw knowing Dig) and characters with abilities that aren't already translated into moves found in their species' natural movesets. In such a case, special approval can be granted before the application process. All characters will naturally know all of the HM moves that their species can learn.

EVOLUTION
Due to the imbalance of Time-Space, no Pokemon may evolve at this time. However, there may be a loophole that someone will try to exploit...

ITEMS
Money and items aren't strictly kept track of in this game, but please be reasonable when utilizing and acquiring them. Saying you saved up enough money to buy that TM you always wanted is acceptable, but saying you bought the entire stock of what the Kecleon Mart had to offer is questionable unless your character is just that rich.
