This is a general community for the anime/novel series of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu). The anime began on April 2, 2006 and was only 14 episodes. So far no second season has been confirmed. The anime is also licensed in North America. Anyone is free to join and post but I do ask that you read and follow the rules.

Story:
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu) is about a girl named Haruhi who on the very first day of school introduces herself as only wanting to make friends with aliens, psychics, and time travelers. After realising that there were no clubs that fit her interests in this matter she decides to create the SOS Brigade. The club members seem to be little more than random victims of Haruhi's recruiting spree, but the truth is much stranger.

The SOS Brigade (SOS団 (エス・オー・エスだん), Esuōesu dan?) name is an acronym of "Sekai wo Ooini Moriagerutame no Suzumiya Haruhi no Dan" (世界を大いに盛り上げるための涼宮ハルヒの団) which translates to "Haruhi Suzumiya's Brigade to Greatly Enliven the World". To retain the acronym, the official North American adaption refers to the group as the "Spreading Excitement All Over the World with Haruhi Suzumiya Brigade", whilst unofficial fan translations generally adopted the title "Save the World by Overloading it with Fun Haruhi Suzumiya's Brigade".

5. NO PORN!! Do I have to say this again! We've been having issues here with this these days. If it's related to the Suzumiya series and is of a questionable nature that's fine. Just keep it under a cut and say if it's not work safe/school safe before some one clicks on it.
