Hello friends,
Once again, all of us in Some By Sea cannot thank you enough for the complete outpouring of love you have shown to us in the past few weeks. It's been incredible and uplifiting. And if you are reading this, thank you for sticking around to do so.
Thankfully, things are happening and we think you are going to like what you see and hear. Chris has begun work on a new project called Ghosts & Liars. This is going to be a big project that we are all very excited about.
We would be honored and humbled if you took a second to visit the new Ghosts & Liars MySpace. Right now, you can hear a demo of the first song, "Sunsets On The Sidenotes". Also, please take a second to add Ghosts & Liars to your friends as there will be countless updates on everything.

You will also find the new Ghosts & Liars LiveJournal here: http://ghostsandliars.livejournal.com. Make sure to be our friend!
Over the next few months, we will be announcing more information on shows, recording and the who's who that will make up Ghosts & Liars. Until then, please follow us over there and we will have a grand old time. That's a promise.
Thanks for taking the time to read this!
Love, Some By Sea.

Hi friends,
How are you all doing?
I just wanted to stop by and see if any of you might have taken any photos and/or videos from either of our final two shows at The Paradox and Hell's Kitchen? We just received two wonderful photo sets from two very nice people and it made us wonder if anyone else might have some!
If you do and would be so kind to send them to us, please e-mail them to theband@somebysea.com and we will be in debt to you forever.
Thank you so much!
Love, Chris (By Sea).

Hi.
Well, a couple of us are just now making it home from last evening's...festivities? I'm not sure if that is the right word or not. But anyway...
Speaking for everyone in Some By Sea, last night was definitely the hardest night of our entire lives. Thanks to all of you that showed up and seriously packed Hell's Kitchen full, we are all able to smile a little bit today through all of the tears. You guys are amazing. Truly, truly wonderful.
Having the opportunity to talk, hug and cry with some of you was incredible and we are all truly sorry that our set was so rushed and everyone was asked to leave so soon after the show was over. If we could have played all night or spent all night hanging out with every single one of you, we would have.
Please stay in touch and write with us. We will still check this MySpace every day. If you have something you want to tell us, please do. If you have any questions at all, please ask. We are here for you and always will be.
Thank you for making the past three years amazing. I can't thank you enough.
All my love, Chris (By Sea)

| the end of a new beginning.. |
[12 Aug 2006|01:39am] |
A good friend of mine died this evening at 9:15 PM. This isn't to say I'm good friends with anyone in the band. But that your music was a friend to me. The first time I saw you it was at Hell's Kitchen. You opened for Rocky Votolato, I caught the last song, and thought "oh this band is alright...I should pick up their cd." From that point it has been love at first sight listen. Throughout the past few years I've experienced many ups and downs, and all through that seeing you at a pizza parlor, used clothing shop, and everything in between. Thus seeing you all at the same venue for your last show was a bit of closure. I'm not sure if I was ready for it all, but at least it ended where it began for me.
This evening I witnessed one of the most honest displays of emotion I have ever seen. Every song prompted me to break down in tears, all the while holding back. The first tear i ever let loose at a concert happened during the second to last song when Chris and Rachael looked at each other. I could tell it was breaking their heart to see this all end, and it nearly made me break down. Sure, some of my friends might make fun of me for that, but I don't give a shit. That was one of the most honest moments of my life. I will never forget the look you two exchanged, in fear of what is to come.
If I would have come to the bar with you all of you, i would have bought a round. But a few beverages can not compare to the amount of thanks I have to you all. If I had my way, I would have been clapping all evening. You have given me so much, and yet, I have given back so little. I only wish there was something I could give back to you, to say thank you for everything you have given me.
After all this drunken rambling, all I can say is thank you Some by Sea. Thank you so much. You have given the world to me, and this is the least I can do is to say thank you. It was a shame your last set was shoved into 35 minutes. You should have had as much time as you wanted to say goodbye. But that is beside the point.
Thank you for everything, you'll never know how much you meant to all of us.

| The End of Some By Sea... |
[24 Jul 2006|09:49pm] |
Hello Friends,
It's with very heavy and sad hearts that we are writing you this evening to inform you that Some By Sea will be disbanding after our final two local shows.
As all of you know, the last few months have hit the band particularly hard and as much as we've tried to recover, it apparently just wasn't in the cards.
For the past three years, we've had the honor of meeting so many wonderful people and created lifelong friendships because of this band and all of you that have been such a huge support to us. For that, we will never be able to thank you enough. You've been wonderful to us and we're sorry that we can't provide you with some better news.
As mentioned, there will be two final shows in the Washington area and as always, we would be honored to have you at either show and would love to have the chance to say our goodbyes to all of you.
The final dates are:
Wednesday, July 26 @ The Paradox in Seattle, WA [More Info] Friday, August 11 @ Hell's Kitchen in Tacoma, WA [More Info]
Again, thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for everything. As soon is there is news on what we are all up to, we will be sure to let you know.
Love, your friends, Some By Sea.
PS: Please feel free to send us a message through MySpace or at theband@somebysea.com and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks.

Hello friends,
There really are no words to explain what is going on in this video....
Basically, this is what happens when Some By Sea and Roy attempt to take over a stage in Jackson, Wyoming during another band's set after enjoying a few adult beverages. The simple truth: we had a blast on this tour. Check out the sweet guitar action from Brian.
Enjoy, at your own risk:

Hello friends,
We are back from tour feeling physically strong and mentally awake, feeling more able to take things one day at a time and also feeling somewhat fancy fresh.
On the last date of our tour with the mighty Roy in lovely Spokane, WA, the Spokane 7 was kind enough to feature our performance at Rock Coffee as one of their weekly podcasts.
You can listen to that podcast here: http://www.spokane7.com/music/shows/?ID=112.
Prior to this show, we had just driven to Spokane all the way from Jackson, Wyoming. We drove through the night where we came across buffalo in Yellowstone National Park, a cat-themed breakfast restaurant in Montana and...well, our own personalized hangovers.
We hope you enjoy. Cheers to all of you.
Love, Some By Sea.

| An Important Message from Chris |
[10 Jun 2006|03:05pm] |
Dear Friends,
Recently, the gang here in Some By Sea land has gone through some tough times. We’ve stayed away from saying anything all that public until we had a better idea of how we were going to handle things, but it feels like we’ve waited long enough and it’s time for us to fill everyone in and move on.
Soon after we finished our last tour in April, Daniel and Tom made the decision to leave Some By Sea. The reasons for their departure will hopefully stay between us where it belongs as things like this are never easy to deal with. We would like to wish them both the best and I hope that someday in the future, we can all regain our friendships.
With a bunch of local shows coming up and another tour planned for May, their decision couldn’t have come at a more difficult time, but thankfully, we were able to enlist the help of all of our amazing friends in Tex. to fill in and were still able to make all of the shows scheduled. Unfortunately, the tour was scrapped and we apologize for that. To those of you that attended any of those shows, this is kind of old news, sorry…
Myself, Rachel and David were left with a tough decision to make regarding the future of Some By Sea. However, we immediately realized that we were not ready to give up and thus, Some By Sea will live on. In all truthfulness, we are pretty excited with the direction things are heading. And what direction is that, you might ask?
Coming up next week, we will begin our first tour since April with our dear friends, Roy. Dates for that tour are listed on the MySpace and on the website, so please check to see if we are going to be coming to your area. We’ve been writing a bunch of new material and have plans to get back into the studio as soon as July, which can only mean one thing in the near future…a new record. We are also planning another west coast tour for the month of August.
So yes, things are busy and oddly enough, we are all pretty happy and content. Something I want to make clear: Some By Sea is not breaking up. Some By Sea has no plans to break up.
We’d like to thank all of you for your continued love and support. Without you, we wouldn’t have a reason to do much of anything. If you are looking for ways to help us out, there are many. You can get all your friends to come to the shows. You can buy the new album. Or, you can feel free to just write to us and say hello and talk to us about anything.
Have a beautiful weekend.
Love, Chris & Some By Sea.

in regards to an event invitation i recieved on the myspace.com from club impact...
for those of you who are not familiar with the inner workings of the tacoma based, self-proclaimed "christian" music venue known as club impact...
although the boys on pistol for a paycheck are good friends and great guys, i refuse to "donate" one cent to a "non profit" organization which pays the bands that play for them next to nothing (and most of the time nothing at all) and pockets all the cash for themselves. as far as i know, non profit means you pay out all that is due to those who help you achieve your goal and keep nothing for yourself. as far as club impact is concerned, that is not the case. people would not be at club impact if it werent for the bands. i seriously doubt people would pay the outrageous $8-10 cover charge just to hang out with derek (owner). the bands are what get the people to come. they deserve to get paid for what they do. for some odd reason i thought christianity was about treating everyone equal and being kind, fair, and just. based on what i have seen from playing in many bands (tenfold, time to fly, claymore, tex.), club impact stands for the exact opposite, yet claims to be a "christian" venue. i will in no way support a person/venue that charges $8 to get into a show, has 200 people come to the show, and then pays the bands each $30. that doesnt make sense.
(the following is based on the numbers from the last show i played - and will ever play - at club impact)
$8 a person x 200 people at the concert = $1600. $30 for each band x 5, (5 band show since impact loves to overbook to ensure a large, unknowingly donating crowd), = $150. $1600 - $150 = $1450. where does that $1450 go? i sure as hell would like to know, because i can tell you for a fact its not going to the musicians that work their asses off and give up everything in their lives to do what they love.
by the way derek, nice new car.
if you have any questions about club impacts agenda or derek smiths agenda or the inner workings of the club or the ongoing scam they are running, you are more than welcome to write me an email. my address is iamdavidnichols@hotmail.com.
love, david j. nichols

So so so so...
TODAY is Saturday, April 29th which is important to many many people for, I'm sure, many many reasons, but the most important reason of all has to do with a little vintage clothing store in beautiful, downtown Tacoma, Washington.
TONIGHT, we the Some By Sea'ers will have the pleasure to share a makeshift stage inside of Junior Bizarre with our bestest friends, Oh Voices to celebrate the RE-Grand Opening of the aforementioned, Junior Bizarre.
Here's the deal: At SEVEN PM on the button, you and your close friends and family members will have the opportunity to make your way inside the store to check out the fabulous array of vintage clothing they have to offer. Soon after, the two bands mentioned above will take the stage and do their best to entertain you and help celebrate this glorious evening. There is NO CHARGE to come join in the celebration and ALL-AGES are definitely encouraged and welcomed with open arms.
Would you like an address to Junior Bizarre? Well, here you go: 739 Broadway Tacoma, WA 98402
Would a map help you out? Try Yahoo! or Google, whichever suits you best.
And now, a small statement: Some of you might have heard some rumors about Some By Sea as of late, especially if you live in the immediate area in which we are located. Some of those rumors might actually be true, but thankfully, most of them aren't. And while this all sounds pretty cryptic, as soon as we are able to fill you in on all the details and let you know what's going on, we will. We just need a little bit of time to straighten up and put a clean shirt on. Just come to the shows and talk to us. Everything will be allllllright.
See you tonight!
Love, Some By Sea.
