I waited for ages for these to get back into stock at Sock Dreams, and while I love them, they aren't as red as I was hoping. I love the O Basics I received and plan on buying more in differing colors.

purpose: a sock review + encourage more cute leg wear!
sock review: these socks are by imaksox on ebay, or they also have the website a sock line. these are what they call their "Girls 6-12 years stripe knee high tube socks."
i have ordered the "adult" (heehee) socks from them before & am interesed in this company b/c it is a small american owned sock mill, which makes them part of a vanishing breed. i must say that while i found the adult size socks to be of a much high quality both in feel & cotton content, these are great for the price!!!
+ you get the added bonus of buying them directly from the folks that make them. i got 6 pair for just under $11 (including shipping!) & i think anytime you can get a groovy pair of socks for under $2/pair, it's a bargin. + they have lots of fab colors.
so what are we looking at?: in this post i wanted to explore how a sock could be used as an "every day" sock & also serve as a "fashion" sock. (the top 2 pics= an everyday kind of sock. the rest of the pics = a more fashion use of the sock.) i think the "girl's" size socks on an "adult" are the perfect length for both! they are not knee socks, which makes them more casual & everyday. but they have enough spunk to be used as a fashion accessory as well.
foot & leg-wear: paul frank for pro-keds skull sneakers, pink stripe tube socks by imaksox, purple dance tights.
accessories: hello kitty ear muffs (target), kitty tail (made by me), fab hand knit gloves by Morrgan (etsy), heart scarf (gift), blue green shades (forgot where).
clothing: sweater, skirt & jacket all thrift scores.
other fashion notes: bunnys are a natural for spring & easter, but i thought a kitty easter theme could work, so i gave it a go, happy holidays everyone!
point of fashion: kitty-girl easter egg, thank goodness spring is here finally.

I'm quite pleased with my current sock storage system. I love being able to see all of them, being able to put them away while they are still wet, and having the option to lay there and reorganize my socks with my eyes or just enjoy how pretty they are all lined up like that.
As you can see, I tend to prefer stripes. Argyles are fun, too, but they seem to be harder to find in color combos I like. Lately I've been feeling like I ought to have more clothes that match my socks. When I moved, I ditched a lot of clothes, but kept all my socks, so I've been keeping my socks in mind when I'm at Goodwill. I think I'm in a fashion transition, anyway. It'll be interesting to see what remains after my next move.

I've been good and saved some cash, so now I'd like to place an order with SD. I like the look of the O woolies but I'm wondering if they are scratchy. Also do you really need th flat dry them? It seems a lot of work. I also want a pair of the dreamies (not the suppers-I'm too short). I know most people love them. I'm also bummed that the Pippys are out of stock. I think mine are great.
One other thought, as much as I love SD, my heart was stolen by Carhartt. Their boot socks are amazing! Either way I have warm, comfy feet. Can't beat that.

I found these at Urban Outfitters, of all places! They've actually got some really nice tights in their stores these days. =) But the most wonderful thing about these tights is that THE PATTERN IS WOVEN!! It is not screen printed! I found them in a beautiful blue, as well, although I didn't get pictures when I wore them. I didn't find them offered on UO's website, unfortunately, so you'd have to go to a store to see if they still have them. I had snagged the last blue pair first, and then kept checking back to see if they had any other colors, and sort of gave up, thinking maybe they were a leftover style that they'd already gotten rid of. (That might still be the case.) But just last week I checked again and found the grey pair! Enjoy!
