The Times Online has a nice article about Keeley Hawes and the show "Ashes to Ashes". I started watching it when it began airing on BBC America, and I like it a lot, although it makes me glad that the fashions of the 80s are no longer in style!

I noticed from the Radio Times that Holly Aird was in last night's ep, and then forgot to watch it 'cos m'flatmate was watching Heroes. Did anyone see the episode, and if so is it worth me (as a Holly Aird fan) trying to catch a repeat or something? Just wondering.

I just did a Google search to see if Sarah Parish was up to anything recently (after watching The Wedding Date earlier today - she SAVES that movie big time) and came across this sad news.

Sarah Parish Mourning Death of Daughter Ella-Jayne

In sad news, Ella-Jayne Murray — the 8-month-old daughter of UK stars Sarah Parish and James Murray — has died after succumbing to complications from a congenital heart defect.

Sarah and James were made aware of the condition while Sarah, 40, was still pregnant, and Ella-Jayne — affectionately dubbed ‘E-J’ by her parents — was ultimately born five weeks premature via emergency C-Section. The delivery was later described as “traumatic” by James, for Ella-Jayne was immediately whisked off for her first of two surgeries to repair the condition, consisting of a hole in her heart. Despite the scary circumstances of her birth, in an interview last summer James, 33, credited his daughter for giving the couple a newfound “perspective on what’s important in life.” He went on to add,
“You can never plan anything in life, and never take anything for granted.”

Ella-Jayne died at her parents’ Hampshire, England, home last week. The couple are said to be ”devastated” by the loss, according to a statement from Sarah’s spokeswoman, who adds “it’s been very hard for them both.”

Ella-Jayne is their first child. Sarah and James have set up a fundraising page in honor of their daughter at Just Giving.

VERY new to this, but would love if someone could help if this is allowed. I think that Julia Davis is possibly the greatest actress in the world, and would love for someone to help me locate a real non-photoshopped picture of her with her boyfriend Julian Barratt, I know only of one which they are posed with Noel Fielding.

Any help greatly appreciated!

(PS has anyone heard or seen anything of her and Julians twins who are now over a year old?!)

Does anybody have any information on her? I've seen her Doctor Who appearances, and a few of her movies, but I'd love to know what she's up to these days. She is fabulous and gorgeous, and there ya go.

She might not be "obscure" in the UK any more, but she still is in the US. Anyhow, after the season finale of Doctor Who airing this past weekend in the UK, I thought this was appropriate. I love this woman: she is bright, she is funny, she is beautiful and she isn't built like a stick insect.

Catherine Tate: after Doctor Who, the West End

Last Updated: 12:01am BST 07/07/2008

Now that her spell as Doctor Who's assistant has come to a dramatic conclusion, Catherine Tate talks to Jasper Rees about her return to the stage - and her ambition to play one of Shakespeare's great comic heroines

Last year, in Tony Blair's final weeks in office, Catherine Tate found herself wearing school uniform at Number 10 while teaching the Prime Minister to act. She had infiltrated his office with the assistance of Comic Relief.

On the fairly sound basis that it's her birthday today, I thought I'd do a picspam of Holly Aird.

Just dropping by to squee over Jane Horrocks. She's just been on telly promoting her new play, The Good Soul of Szechuan, which opens in London next week. She looked absolutely lovely, and we were treated to a(n all too short) sample of her fine singing voice. *mwah*

Hello all,

I read the rules and I think this is okay. I just wanted to let you all know that I recently created [info]sarahparishfans, unsurprisingly for fans of Sarah Parish! It's the sister community to [info]jamesmurrayfans, for Sarah's husband. I hope to see some of you over there.

I love Elaine Cassidy. There is an awesome website for this girl known commonly as Love 'n Lemons, only most of the blasted photos at the place had watermarks on them *grrrr*

So I set to fix up that with a couple here, one is a materpeice! And if you use em in anything, I'd LOVE to see the finish product, and be credited of course cause DAMN these things at times can be hard to do. (Hence why one is refered to as a masterpeice)

4 unwatermarked photos in all.

From Mistresses to Mother-to-be: Newlywed Sarah Parish's baby joy

18th January 2008

She plays a GP who has an affair with a dying patient in Mistresses, BBC1's new drama, but Sarah Parish's real life is rather more conventional.

The 39-year-old actress is expecting her first baby with fellow actor James Murray, whom she married last month.

Her spokeswoman confirmed the actress will give birth in the summer and is "delighted".

This week Sarah, who has starred in Doctor Who and Cutting It since making her name in the cult Boddingtons beer adverts in the Nineties, could be found shopping for maternity outfits in Mamas & Papas on Regent Street.

Says a friend of Somerset-born Sarah, who quit London last year to renovate an old mill with Murray, 32, in rural Hampshire: "Sarah is absolutely over the moon. The pregnancy has made her very happy indeed."

The couple met on the set of Cutting It when the Primeval actor joined the cast in 2004.

Parish and Murray, 32, wed in Hampshire on December 15 after a two year romance.

Ahead of their festive wedding, Parish admitted she was fighting the urge to become a 'bridezilla'.

She said: "It's been a pretty stressful time.

"You do find yourself becoming Monica from Friends. I have a big file on everything, and I've become slightly anal about things. I know way too much about flowers and veils."

After only two episodes so far, Mistresses is attracting five million viewers.

The show tells the story of four female friends with complicated love lives.

Parish plays GP Katie who is mourning her married lover John and her part in his death and finds herself attracted to his son Sam (Max Brown).

The actress admitted she nearly turned down the part after hearing the show's title.

She said: "All the way through I was nervous about it and I think that was purely because of the title.

"I know it's crazy but I couldn't get my head around the fact that I was going to be in something called Mistresses. It wasn't until I saw the finished product that I went, 'Actually, I'm very proud to be in that.' I think it's a great piece of work.

"I hope viewers can get through that initial 'are these people just going to be four stalking women stealing my husband?' Then they'll enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it."

Rumor has it that one of my favorites, Romola Garai, is generating some Oscar buzz for her role of Young Briony in Atonement. You can read a full article on the film here: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/awards_festivals/fest_reviews/article_display.jsp?&rid=9693 and my thoughts

For any of you OBFA fans who are also Jane Austen fans, Masterpiece Theater has started a website for the new Jane Austen season coming to PBS this year.

They will be running all of the Jane Austen updates that they have been showing in Britain along with the Kate Beckinsale/Mark Strong version of "Emma" and the classic 1995 version of "Pride and Prejudice" (get out the Milk Tray!)

I cannot wait for these to come out (January 2008)!!
