rodman_12001@yahoo.com About This is a community for people who have a desire to live life sober. It was originally intended as a place for the non-conformist type who, for whatever reason, felt as though they did not "fit" in today's mainstream society. Non-conformist such as the goth, rockabilly, punk, raver, or any other sub-culture who desires a life without booze and/or drugs are welcome here.....as are all others.......are commonality is the desire to be clean and sober. The non-conformist knows all to well what it's like to be judged based on physical appearance and as such we don't dare judge others for not being like us, therefore, ALL ARE WELCOME in this community.
If you are in a program of recovery, 12-step based or not, or simply prefer no drugs or booze for whatever reason, then feel free to join us. Vent about whatever problems you wish so long as they are related to sobriety. Feel free to talk about the good times too for we are not a glum lot.
We only ask a few things as far as "rules" are concerned. They mainly have to do with religion and acceptance of others. Bottom line is leave your judgment in your own journal. The believer, atheist, and agnostic are all welcome here. As such we need to keep religious debate out of this community. You are welcome to express your views regarding a higher power of your understanding and how a spiritual way of living has helped you in sobriety. For many of us the reliance on such power was part of the only solution we could find in this business of sobriety. However, there are many ways to sobriety and we support whatever works for you. If elaborate discussion arises from the topic of religion see to it that it is quickly relocated to the journal of one of the debaters. Of course we can and do speak of things spiritual in nature, i.e. God, but this is simply not the place to debate the subject. There are dozens of communities that were created for that purpose so it's not needed here.
