[info]burnitbackwards:
Dear participants and lurkers,

Thank you so much for helping us make this challenge such a success! We've really enjoyed all of the fic, vids, and graphics that we've gotten as a result of this project, and we hope you all have too. Participants, please don't forget to post your submission to your own website/livejournal over the next few days and send us the link.

Also, please forgive us for not linking to each submission here; you can find them all, authors included, at our website. Thanks again!

Lovelovelove,

ATTENTION ALL [info]snowinandblowin PARTICIPANTS! @ 03:40 pm

[info]reinabelle:
We received an email today that indicates that some people may not have received their assignments. We sent out assignments on November 21 so if you have not received yours yet, please let us know immediately.

You can reply here or email us at snowinandblowin [at] gmail [dot] com.

We hope the rest of you are having fun with your assignments. Remember to comment in this post if you are not participating and you are able to beta, and remember to email us if you need a beta and we'll do our best to match you up!

Calling all betas! @ 11:18 pm

[info]burnitbackwards:
Dearest lurkers, AKA people who are watching/are members of this community but aren't participating in the Secret Santa--

We've had some requests from participants for betas, and we figured that all of you, since you're obviously interested in what goes on here, might be potential candidates! If you're willing to beta a story for a [info]snowinandblowin participant, please comment here and let us know! Then, when somebody asks us for beta advice, we'll send them your way. Be sure to let us know if there are any scenarios or pairings that you're uncomfortable betaing.

Thanks so much!

PS -- Comments are screened. Please leave us an e-mail address so that we can give that to the person who needs a beta, too.

VERY IMPORTANT INFO, OMG. @ 08:33 pm

[info]burnitbackwards:
Thanks to everybody who signed up! [info]reinabelle and I have made the assignments, and we are v.v.v. excited about everybody who's participating! You should each be receiving an e-mail within the next hour or so from snowinandblowin at gmail dot com, so keep your eyes peeled for that. It has a lot of Very Important Info about the challenge.

If you don't receive said e-mail within the next 24 hours, please comment here (comments are screened) and let us know, because it may mean that we have the wrong e-mail address for you. If this is the case, please also post your e-mail address again. Again, this is really important, because e-mail is our only means for giving you your assignment!

Finally, here's our list of participants )

We weren't sure that we should post this (you know, for the sake of the surprise and all), but then we realized that we don't want anybody to go asking other participants to beta or preview their submissions. If you need a beta and you can't think of one who's not taking part in the challenge, ask us and we'll either help you out or refer you to someone who can! Also, if you're lurking and are willing to offer yourself up as a beta, please comment here and let us know!

Again, thanks for participating; we're really looking forward to all of your fabulous submissions!

And we're off! @ 11:59 pm

[info]burnitbackwards:
Welcome to the home of the Queer as Folk Secret Santa! Here's the way the challenge will work:

1. Each participant will act as "pitcher" and "catcher," so to speak. That means everyone who signs up agrees not only to be a recipient of a story/vid/layout/whatever, but to give one as well. Please don't sign up if you don't have time to fully participate!

2. Once we receive all of the requests, BIBW will assign everybody to someone else. This is slightly different from how we'd originally intended, but we figure that it'll be more fun if everybody's requests are surprises, and we've added a new dimension to make sure that nobody has to do anything that makes them uncomfortable.

3. The deadline for submission is December 19, 2004 at 9 PM EST. If you don't submit by that time, we'll be forced to send out our team of supersecret spies, and they will steal all your presents and piss on your life-sized Brian Kinney cut out. For real, people.

4. We'll unveil everything on December 23. Why not Christmas Day, you ask? Because it's Christmas, that's why, and we patently refuse to stop stuffing our faces with food long enough to get on the computer and upload the gifts. Feel free not to look at yours ahead of time, though!

5. When it's all said and done, and everyone has had a chance to look at the submissions, we'll give people a chance to guess at who contributed each creation, and then when the guessing stops (we'll give you about a week, we figure), we'll announce who all of the contributors were.

If you've made it through all of this and you're ready to submit your requests, click here!

Sign up to participate! @ 11:58 pm

[info]burnitbackwards:
The deadline to sign up to participate in the Queer as Folk Secret Santa is midnight Eastern Standard Time on Monday, November 21! (That's the one between Sunday and Monday, folks.) Don't come crying to us if you miss the cut-off!
