FRIDAY/SATURDAY
Arrival time for the September 29, 2007 show with host LeBron James & MG Kanye West was at 12:15 p.m. We were #3 & #4 in the standby line. Danny was #1. YAY Danny!!! Since this was the Season Premiere I was excited because I got to sit in my new green with blue trim camping chair. I also got to see the cast & a new show again. I saw Maya Rudolph go in. She was on her cell phone so I didn't bother her. At 5:15 p.m. I saw Bret Michaels go into the building for Conan. He was a little bit mobbed but he signed for everyone. I didn't go up to him though since I dont listen to Poison. For awhile I thought it was Axel Rose. At 6:00 p.m. we went to dinner. We were headed for McDonalds in the building but when we got there they were no longer there so we went to Burger King instead. I was disappointed. After dinner we came back to the line & discovered that it rained hard. It wasn't supposed to rain so we came unprepared. I stood for awhile so my chair could dry. At 7:30 p.m. Bret Michaels came back out. This time he was really mobbed. At 7:45 p.m. I saw Ann Curry. She was around for awhile. She took pictures with people & had a conversation with Louis. After 10:00 p.m. I saw Fred Armisen. Fred hung out for a bit. While I was talking to my Mom I saw Seth Meyers. He waved & walked down the street. At 1:15 a.m. we went to a 24 hour McDonalds to use the restroom. I also wanted some fries so Louis bought a meal. It took the worker forever to give it to us. Yep, that McDonalds is still the same. That's the McDonalds that should have closed not the other one. When we finally got back to the line I saw Lorne Michaels leave. I sat in my new chair & played a game on my cell phone. I went to sleep for an hour & then we went to the deli for breakfast. Came back & packed up the stuff. Ticket time arrived at 7:00 a.m. I got #3 air show ticket & Louis got #4 air show ticket for Bryan & his girlfriend Kat.
SATURDAY NIGHT
We went to Tad's Steaks on 50th street, then we walked to Rock Center & had ice cream at Ben & Jerry's. We sat in the concourse for awhile. We got to NBC at 6:00 p.m. We stood around & chatted with Tim, Arlene, Kat & Zach. Louis & I went up for dress. I saw Chris Hanson of Dateline waiting to be seated. 61 standbys got into dress. After dress we came down & chatted with Emily, Arlene, Bryan, Kat, Danny & Andy. We gave Bryan & Kat their tickets. Louis & I go up for the LIVE show. Bob Costas & Jeff Zucker were in the audience. 96 standbys got into air. After the show we came down to the lobby & waited for the cast. I saw everyone except for Darrell Hammond & Kristen Wiig. Chatted with Bill Hader, Jason Sudeikis, Kenan Thompson, Maya Rudolph & Will Forte. I got a really cute smile from Ashton Kutcher. Said Hello to John Krasinsky. Louis got a hug from Chris Rock. Watched Chris Rock have a long conversation with Kanye West.
WHAT GOT CUT
ANGRY CUSTOMER- LeBron James, Kenan Thompson, Amy Poehler & Bill Hader. Jason takes a mattress back to the store when the indentations dont match his figure. This was boring.
HD ULTRASOUND- Bill Hader, Jason Sudeikis & Kristen Wiig. A commercial about having an ultrasound in HD so you can see the baby better.
ENTOURAGE- LeBron James, Amy Poehler, Kenan Thompson, Fred Armisen & Bill Hader. LeBron & Amy are on a dinner date. Amy complains that his entourage is around too much.
FOOTBALL PROMO- Just a promo about football. Not a big deal.
SABOTAGE- LeBron James & Amy Poehler. LeBron & Amy talk about sabotage in a dental office.
VETERANS- LeBron James, Kenan Thompson, Bill Hader, Will Forte, Maya Rudolph & Fred Armisen. LeBron & Kenan are veterans at a football game talking about how games used to be played.
HISTORY'S GREATEST STORIES- Just a bunch of old stories.
EPISODE REVIEW
PRE-SHOW THOUGHTS- This is the Season Premiere. You would think they would pick a better host or MG. Lorne knows how to start with bad ratings. LeBron James is a basketball player & I dont care for Kanye West or rap music.
HILLARY COLD OPEN- Nice way to open the show. Darrell has always been funny as Bill. Amy does a good Hillary. If I was a voter I would vote Hillary for President in 2008. A
LEBRONOLOGUE- This was OK. I don't know who played his family but if they were all him I will give him credit. Could have done without the medical joke though. C
DOG FOOD- Commercial. It was sad to see the dog in pain but after the food it was hilarious. A+
PENELOPE AUCTION- I thought Oh No not another one of these but this was funny especially the way she would pop up in a scene. C
HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 3- It's a good thing I got into HSM this Summer or this would have gone over my head. Instead of Andy I think it should have been Will to be in Zac Efrons part. A
DIGITAL SHORT: ANDY & MUHAMED- I loved this video. This will be another video downloaded so many times. Nice touch to include Jake Gyllenhaal at the end. A+
READ TO ACHIEVE- Looks like this will be recurring. The first time they did it was the Julia Louis-Dreyfus show. I thought it was OK. B
THE LYLE KANE SHOW- I wonder how Will came up with this character? It's strange. I will have to see one more to get used to it. C
KANYE WEST "STRANGER/GOOD LIFE- I didn't care for the rapping part but the beat was good. I loved the jacket & how it glowed in the dark. B
WU WITH POEHLER/MEYERS- Darrell Hammond was cut as Guiliani talking on his cell phone to his wife. Some jokes were funny. C
SOLID GOLD- Loved Kenan's outfit. Kristen was funny when she talked. LeBron looked like he was having fun. Will looked good. C
TV FUNHOUSE: AMBIGOUSLY GAY DUO- Haven't seen one of these in awhile. I found it funny that Gary & Ace wouldnt eat the food at first. C
106 & PARK- This was sort of funny. I'm glad Kanye was willing to make fun of himself. He should quit rapping & start an acting career. C
KANYE WEST "CHAMPION/ I AM- I didn't care for this song. It was way too long. I kept thinking "When is this song going to end". F
GUIDANCE COUNSELOR- I thought this was funny because that's how my guidance counselor was. I loved how he said Just Google It. C
AFTER SHOW THOUGHTS- This was an OK show especially for an athlete. Kanye West wasn't bad either. Felt good to be back. I give this show a C+
