AboutWelcome to A Snarry A Day, a Harry Potter fanfiction rec community which showcases one quality 'Snarry' fanfic every day! At the end of each week, vote for the rec of the week; at the end of each month, the rec of the month; and at the end of December, the rec of the year!
The purpoes of this site is simple: to rec a single, quality, completed 'Snarry' fanfic every day. |
Fanfic is, quite simply, a story written within the pre-existing universe of another writer, usually a published one. ASAD's universe is J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter world. |
Snarry is a 'shipper term, that is, a reference to a specific fanfictional relationship. Snarry is the amalganation of 'Snape' and 'Harry', and is a story featuring a romantic involvment between Severus Snape and Harry Potter. |
Completion -- All stories to be showcased must be completed. They may be parts of series that are works in progress or incomplete, but the showcased story itself must be entirely finished. |
Characterization -- Is Harry Harry-like? Is Snape sarcastic, cruel, bitter, and mean ... or is he a seriously misunderstood soul who only needs someone to save him from his own darkness? This criteria is based on how true the author remains to the original characterization of both characters... within reason. |
Quality -- Does the author use proper grammer, have good vocabulary, and at least one beta? This is a requirement; stories which do not meet this requirement are automatically removed from the queue. |
Rating -- We will read all stories, regardless of rating, and all stories have an equal opportunity (if equally well written) of being rec'd. Be aware, however, that if you write a graphic sex scene, it will have to be believable and have a point; the Team will not rec and PWP (Porn Without Plot). |
Pairing -- This is a Snarry rec community; as such, we will not rec any other pairing, be it HP/DM or HG/RW or SB/RL. Be aware that some stories will have secondary pairings, but stories which are developed around one of these other pairings will not be considered. Likewise, stories in which the Snarry relationship occured in the past and the characters have moved on to other pairings will not be considered. In short, the story must focus on Snarry. |
