We come here to discuss everything relating to Snape in detail and with a passion. While we don't need to agree on everything, and while some like DH and others don't, we all certainly don't need to be told by wankers that:
The books are called Harry Potter and... for a reason. – Guess what? We had already noticed.
We should get over it, already. – No, we like to still discuss things – that's the reason we come here.
Snape is an unpleasant, mean, greasy git and was mean to Harry. – Guess what? We had noticed that as well. And that's part of what makes him interesting; he is a multi-faceted character.
We only love Snape because we like Alan Rickman. – Oh, how original. While Alan Rickman certainly qualifies as eye candy, he is actually a bit too old for canon Snape. Many of us are very capable of distinguishing between movie Snape, a good-looking actor and the canon character.
We only love Snape because we want to write sappy romantic fiction about him. – Wrong again. There are many writers from different ships and gen here, and we try to look at Severus from all sides.
We are useless gossips who dare question JKR's morality and discuss her personal life. – Well, someone who flirts with the public by laying her personal life open, someone who compares herself to Hermione, tells people that she married Harry Potter, accuses people of having the bad boy syndrome without even listening, who tries to preach tolerance and condemns children from broken homes as being doomed, calls Snape a vengeful, spiteful person and then glorifies vengeful, spiteful behaviour by her beloved Gryffindors - is laying herself wide open to criticism.

Snape lives!
This is a place where fans of Severus Snape come together and discuss, laugh and cry about Severus Snape. The community isn’t moderated; I will let discussions go undisturbed unless it resorts to name calling. In that case, I reserve the right to delete without further notice after two warnings.
There won’t be a spoiler policy either. If you come here, you will find Deathly Hallows discussion. Chances are that you won’t find much Deathly Hallows squeeing.
On the community you can:
- Recommend ‘rescue fics’.
- Write metas/essays about Severus Snape.
- Write metas/essays about any other Harry Potter character, as long as there is a connection to Snape. I would find a Snape and Sirius Black essay interesting. Snape and Winky would make me wonder, but if you have an interesting idea, go for it.
- Rant about a Snape related topic without making it a formal essay.
- Post Snape-related jokes.
- Recommend and link to essays, metas, rants, sites or other Snape-related topics elsewhere.
- Share writers’ resources about Severus Snape. You can also post requests for beta-readers.
- Discuss aspects of writing fanfic about Severus Snape
- Pimp your stories, your art or your communities on Fridays. You can post abstracts, but not chapters or the whole text. Thumbnails of images and descriptions of communities are ok.
On the community you cannot:
- Post fan fiction. But you can pimp your fics and those of your friends every Friday.
- Post fan art. But you can pimp your art every Friday.
- Start shipping wars. I want this to be for all Snape fans, and Snarry-, Snucius-, SS/HG-, Snuna-, Snape/whoever-fans have more in common than divides them. Let’s share our insights, not fight about fictional romantic attachment. The only exception to this is Snily. Feel free to bitch/dicuss this pairing since it’s canon.
- Complain because other people aren’t nice. Debates can get heated. Try not to get personal and try not to take the things said on a personal level. Discuss the topic, not the poster.
This should do for a start. I will make the rest up as we go. I will provide tags and make links to summary pages and such eventually, but there won’t be much organizing going on here. If you like posts, put them in your own memories.
