I Love my Buddy!
EDIT: I did some correction of spelling.
So alot has happened since my last post. Since the shed two Saturdays ago, I thought I'd try and seen what Frank (the rat) would do with Buddy alive. Well he tried to bite him twice. I wasn't happy. So, when Wednesday rolled around, I was happy to see Frank go bye-bye. I did the old 'pillow case' method. And well...ended up breaking his neck...twice. I only had to dangle the rat for...less than a minute and Buddy nabbed him. Tried to take it side on for like 10 minutes, then finally found himself to it's head. He had a hard old time. But he got it down. Poor Buddy was stretched to the max I think. His "lips" were all red and kind of bruised. Probably from trying to take it side on. He acted alittle funny afterwards, but back to his old self in no time. This week passing. I figured I give Buddy a break. I had got 3 mice from the week before. 2 females and a male. I put Buddy with the male first. He didn't pay much attention to it. I grabbed the one female, since the other is very much pregnant (and I want to keep her to grow the litter for food). I swear to god that that mouse didn't even hit the bottom of his feeding container and Buddy had her. LoL...she peed herself (which was sprayed up over the wall) and pooped herself. The poor male was scared shitless. Anyways, I figured Buddy would have ate the male. Nope. He decided he was going to sleep right in the container. I waited 2 days and tried with the male again. I wanted to get him out of the cage with the pregnant mouse, incase she has them, I don't want him eating them. Sure enough Buddy took him. I was so proud of my boy.
Anyways, it's been 3 mice and 1 young rat later and Buddy STILL hasn't pooped. Should I be concerned? I thought snakes pooped alittle more often. But I could be corrected.
Besides all that excitment. My fiance & I are starting to talk about buying the other Ball Python at the store. I have to ask my manager tomorrow morning how much he'll be. Probably cheaper than Buddy was. I got him for $90. The ball at the store will probably be $60-70. I'm pretty sure sticking to males together is probably not a good idea. Especially with the size difference. Buddy being 3ft long, 5-6inches in diameter, and the other ball (who I call Kitty, HaHa) being 1.5-2ft long...maybe 3-4inches in diameter. If we get him, we'll probably get a 20gal for him. And maybe, my fiance may make a tank for him. Anyone have any suggestions on building your own tank for a snake?
Anyways, I guess that's enough yapping. LoL! Later my follow snake lovers!
