Selling Boa and Kingsnake
(If this isn't allowed here for some reason, I'll be happy to remove it.)

I'm moving into an apartment that doesn't allow snakes, and while I could probably smuggle these guys in initially, I realized just how difficult it's going to be as they start getting larger/as I move around more (sometimes to places that won't allow snakes). I'm looking to find them GOOD homes, which means that I will be charging money to make sure people aren't just buying them to get the cages/sell to testing agencies/etc.

I have one 2' long (definitely male - probed) Suriname Red-tailed Boa: ($250)

He has the most beautiful crimson tail, and light pink on his sides.

And one 1'+ long (maybe female, but I'm just guessing) Mexican Black Kingsnake: ($75)

(Click here for a more accurate depiction of her coloration, since she looks brown there...)
She's the sweetest snake I've ever had. Wonderful personality and enthusiastic eater.

I live in Central Texas near Austin and San Antonio. No shipping, sorry.

Both snakes are priced at what I bought them for.
They both have cages, water bowls, heat lamps (under tank heater for the King), and about six mice (each), all of which I'll include for free.

Both tanks are actually aquariums and can be completely filled with water. They come with screen tops. The Kingsnake is in a 20-gal high, and the Boa is in a 50-gal. Both snakes (especially the boa, the king would probably be just fine) will need larger tanks as they grow.

If you'd prefer to buy the 75-gallon (not an aquarium, sorry) from me for the Boa, I'll sell it to you for what I bought it ($175).

Thanks so much! If you guys find anything listed here overpriced, please say so :3 I just wanna find my guys good homes <3
Questions/comments/requests for more pictures are appreciated~

I know, it's breaking my heart to get rid of him D: I was hoping to breed him someday (hence the probing). If you know any good homes around here, I'm definitely open for suggestions.

I wish I did. Unfortunately, I'm in Colorado, so I can't help you. But good luck!

Man, do I wish Ihad the money for the Suriname Boa. And I'm in San Antonio, too! It's not fair. :-(

I don't mind cutting the price a little, if it means getting him into a better home. I just wanna make sure he gets to someplace that can properly take care of him.

Oh, he would definitely get a good home, right alongside my Odo. My animals are my family, and I will do anything for them. Problem is I'm getting married in August, and was recently laid off, so what little extra we had went bye bye. :-(

I don't know if you would be interested in trading for him, but that's about my only option at this point. :-\

Ahh, I see. Well, I would like to get something for him (because $250 simply down the drain is... slightly devastating to my wallet, heh).

But if I'm still not able to find a good home for him in a couple of weeks or so, I might come crawling back to you (if that's okay, lol).

That's totally ok with me, though I know that's not the 'gold star' scenario. :-(

In the meantime, I'll keep my ears open for anyone in my somewhat limited pool of friends(I'm a seattle transplant, and I still don't know all that many people here) that might be looking for a drop-dead gorgeous snake.

Thanks so much :D I really appreciate it. I'd much rather prefer to find him a home through friend/reptile networks than any other means.

No shipping? D:

Lordy, he's gorgeous. *whistles*

I hope you find a good home for them both.

So sorry D: I just don't wanna deal with all the unknowns of shipping.

Thanks so much, though *crossing her fingers*

That's a gorgeous Suri, and I'd be glad to give them both a home for you, but unfortunately I live in Canadaland. D: A liiiittle too far. Good luck in finding a home for them!

Hmm, I've never heard of apartments not allowing snakes! Is it like a "no animals whatsoever" rule, or "no constrictors" rule, or just random bans on certain types of animals? I know in NYC it is illegal to own constrictors and pythons, which somewhat makes sense with such a dense area, but doesn't when you take into account how relatively small ball pythons stay.

Er... it's like a "landlord doesn't allow snakes" rule. Most likely. Even if the building's owners are fine with it, if management is not fine with catching all the escapees that will happen, management will tell you not to bring a snake in.

Bingo :C

And I can't afford to be evicted from my apartment just because I was too stubborn to find a good home for these guys.

It's a ban on "exotic" animals, and snakes, birds, and a few others are listed in there :C Unfornunately, it was the only apartment I could afford at this point in my life (yay for being a poor college student) D:

I chalk all bans and such up to the public's ignorance of snakes. If they knew how harmless these gorgeous creatures were, they wouldn't think twice about letting them into apartments. My two babes are waaay less destructive than, say, my canine, who is allowed.
