Errr...yeah, the title about says it all. Here's the story I submitted for smp.
Cale decides that Ash’ fear of Halloween is best cured by tacky non-rides and cheap costumes. His best friend thinks Halloween is better spent terrorising kids with practical joke doorbells. The best laid plans are always doomed to fail.

With one hour to spare, here is my Halloween story. Sorry for the late posting... I'm a big dork and realized too late that hadn't actually ever joined this community. ;p

So I am one of the "missed the deadline" people. Managed Halloween, though, and I am quite happy with that. This is a Halloween story in the sense that there are witches and it is fall. Very creative, I know.

Yay, I finally get to post this up! This was originally going to be a dark, angsty and possibly blood-soaked tale of demons and squishy-spurty bits. Then I realised it was turning in a Clive Barker oneshot and totally changed everything to make it happier and more like the treat than the trick. Ahem ... yes, well... here's the link so enjoy!

Alright, I originally estimated that this fic was going to be really long and before the writer's block settled in, it was only proving my point. However, in order to get past that lovely block of non-writing, I had to hack at the story until only this remained. My muse, while not entirely pleased that her work of art was mutilated, is at least grudgingly content with this.

Okay!
So, the last of the newsletters went out this morning. Half of the domestic ones went out yesterday, the other half went out today. Nothing says big Dork-o like going to the post office with a laundry basket filled to the brim with packages in the middle of October. XD (And, of course, I got the same clerk today as I did yesterday...>_>;;)
It looks like some of you have already gotten yours. XD And I officially give up on trying to predict how long it will take packages to arrive at the destined locations. However, I imagine that in 4-5 days everyone should have theirs in their hot little hands. ^_^ Hope you enjoy!

Okay! So! My lesson of the week is that when doing a newsletter, if work asks me to work a 10 hour shift before a mailing deadline, my answer should be a uncompromising no.
Live and learn. ^_^;;
But! If you live outside of the US, your newsletters got mailed out this morning. The rest of you guys, your newsletters are going out on the 24th so that all the international people aren't stuck reading your posts and cursing the fact that they live abroad. ;3
I owe about half a dozen of you emails. And I will get to them. Tomorrow, after I've slept for a thousand years. ^_^;; *tackle glomps*
Suffice to say though, you all rock. *tackle hearts*!!
Oh! And because I know that there are a lot of people (maybe me included ^_^;;) who were not able to make the deadline for the newsletter, let's have a little halloween thon here!
For those of you working on stories that were originally intended for this, if you want to post here in the comm or post a link to where you posted it when you finished, we'd more than love to see it!
Also, if you did write for the Newsletter, consider the 31st your free for all. I totally expect you all to post your stories online and give us a link here so that we can see them online and so that you can get some feedback here too. ;3 *glomps*

ETA: For a lot of you, I have no idea what your real life name is, so I plan on using your lj usernames on the address labels. If you absolutely do not want me to send something with your username on the address label, now is the time to drop me an email and let me know how you'd like the address label to be labeled.
Also, if your address has changed since you filled out the poll on August 23, you really need to drop me an email and let me know where to send your newsletter to instead. ^_^;;

Hey! Just a friendly reminder. ^_^
So, we're into the home stretch. Of sorts. ^_^;; There are nine days left to get your submissions put together and sent in. :3 (Email submissions to chikitts at yahoo dot com) Deadline is the 15th of October.
I've already gotten two stories and printed them out, and gone through about 3,000 sheets of paper. XD (That wailing you hear? That's my printer...^_^;;)

Okay! So, this is just a quick reminder, if you want to donate for the newsletter, the cut off is the 30th. (And I'm making the cutoff so that I have enough time to ferret things out and get things put together for bonus packets. ^_^;;)
And! If you're writing or drawing or doing something for the newsletter, I need to have things in my hot little hands by the 15th of October. (Ideally, if you can, earlier would be nice. Although, trust me, I totally get the procrastination thing, so if you don't have it until the fifteenth, that's cool too.) Just email 'em to me at chikitts at yahoo dot com.
J's already commenting that he can hear my printer crying. XD *snickers* But really, what use is a printer if you can't print pretty things out on it on pretty paper? ^_^
And, for anyone looking for some visual aids on the whole haunted house thing, I was looking at Victorian Houses earlier today, and it strikes me that they'd make excellent haunted houses. (That could just be me though...)
Still, this one and this one make pretty excellent candidates.

Okay guys! I can't believe how many of you have signed up. *_* That's awesome!
However, for the sake of my sanity, I'm going to be making a cut off for sign ups or I'm never going to get this organized in time.
So, you can sign up to get a newsletter until Saturday, September 15. After that, I'm sorry, but I'm just not going to be able to get you one. Also, I'm making a cut off at 40 people or I'm never going to be able to afford this. There are currently four slots left. So, which ever comes first, 40 or the 15th...
I'll be taking donations up until September 30th, because I have to be able to organize and collect things for the donation bonus packs.
Also, if you're going over fifteen pages in story, now is definitely the time to let me know. ^_^;;
