Since it appears that snacksters is dead and now give_me_cake has been deleted, I've created a new snack swap community called we_swap_snacks. Yeah, creative, huh?

Anyway, we plan to run it similarly (if not the exact same way) as snacksters. We're also going to open up separate posts for people to solicit private and "mini" swaps.

Your mods are myself, bettybites and animimi. We're seasoned swappers and I've modded a few communities in the past. We're low on the drama quotient and heavy on the OMGINEEDSNACKS quotient.

Here is the post you've all been waiting for!

Sign-ups for Round 7 will begin this weekend.  The Rules and Application post will probably go up early Saturday morning (Tokyo time), which means that a lot of you will be able to see it as early as Friday evening.  The post will be locked, so if you want to participate, please check now and make sure that you are actually a member of the community and not just a watcher.  Those of you who still need to join, please make sure that you read the community info page before submitting a membership request.

Things to keep in mind:

• It will take about one week for us to partner everyone up and send out emails.  That means that the round will actually start next weekend (26th/27th), so let's make the tentative shipping deadline May 15th.  That gives you almost three weeks, guys, which should be more than enough time.
• Stateside Snacksters outnumber everyone else, so US applications will be cut off earlier than non-US ones.  We usually have to do this within the first 24 hours, and while we don't really want to give you less than a day, it all depends on how quickly applications are coming in.  We're not doing this to be jerks, we simply don't have enough non-US participants to balance things out.
  
• You will be able to request a partner from a certain country/countries on your application.  In the event that we just can't find you a partner from the place(s) you've requested, you'll have the option to either (a) participate in a domestic swap (this is typically a US-only thing), (b) let us partner you with someone at random or (c) skip this round.

To give you some ideas, here is a list of places that have been represented in previous rounds: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Israel, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Russia, Singapore, Switzerland, United Kingdom (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland), and, of course, the USA.

So, after being shipped on February 11 and taking the long route by horse and buggy Canada Post, my package from snowy_owl30 arrived today - and just in time for my birthday party tonight! Hooray!



I had to wait to open it once I got it in the house - I had gobs of groceries to put away, so it sat on my kitchen table, taunting me.

Okay so I got my package Valentine's Day week and sadly my package never made it to zerlina but I guess that is the way of life.  I am going to send her  another one as soon as I get money, college makes life hard in that aspect. I really hate that she didn't get it, my first partner got her package so easily.

Anyways thank you to her for the wonderful snacks and sorry for being a seemingly horrible snackster but I have proof that I sent it out, it just never got there. :'(

Sorry ravynstar, this is a bit late. A few of the goodies have been consumed, the Pirate Booty was a nice pick-me-up at the Relay for Life last weekend. She sent many goodies and I appreciate her thoughtfulness and willingness to send me Reeces Cookies and SweetTarts! I've been sharing goodies with some friends and coworkers and they've been impressed :) I haven't tried the tea yet, I'm going to break that out tonight. I'm sick and am tired of drinking orange juice drinking it all day. It's about time for some tea!

This is late, but I got my package!

I managed to cheer my man up with the Hawaiian surprise after he had had a horrible day at work. Then we took the box to the movies and ate most of it... : ) sooo - don't have TOO many pics for you!

I got my package from Sarah (I don't know her LJ name!) on Tuesday. I've been to Canada a few times and every time I go I find something new that we can't get here. 



Here it is! I requested smarties and supernibs, and the only thing we can get in the US that I know of is the Coffee Crisp, which I've never tried! I am really excited about the marshmallow-y things:)

So I'm not having a good day - the shower upstairs has leaked and put a big hole in the kitchen ceiling, and I'm also feeling really crappy from the anaestethic after visiting the dentist :( But, thanks to the wonderful world of snacksters, and my great partner from the US (our very own _zerlina_  ) I'm having a much better day now :) Despite the fact that I was cursing the delivery guy who came at 6.30 his morning(!), I started smiling all over when I saw what he had in his hands...

I wanted to thank my swap partner Kimberly for a fantastic package. Unfortunately I haven't been able to take pictures but I can list the things she got me. So I used Google to show pictures of the goodies that rowan_t sent to me.

Nerds - interesting look and sound nice
Good and Plenty - never tried these before so should be interesting
Reeses Pieces - Reeses Pieces have now become my downfall, must the peanut butter
Marshmallow Hearts - these are so sweet
Jelly Belly Jelly Beans - these jelly beans are so good and full of flavour
Fruit Runts - I like little fruit sweets like this
Cinnamon Imperials - cinnamon is such a great flavour, I like a bit of savoury with sweets
Chases Cherry Mash - should be interesting
Poptarts - Raspberry and Cinnamon Brown Sugar - LOVE American Poptarts as there is more variety

A notice came from my post office yesterday that my package from blofie and Australia had come. I was able to get it tonight after work and was squealing with glee unwrapping every single bubble wrapped packet!!

Many many thanks to lerabollera (Sarah), who was an awesome swap partner! My husband called me at work this afternoon to let me know that my package had arrived. Only, I still had 2 more hours of work and the commute home! I was so excited, my mom came over to see what all the fuss was about!

My partner malanaihas been great!  My mother passed away in the midst of this, my first swap.  She sent her package on time and I didn't :(  But she should get it by Friday!!  I tried to make up for the lateness by spending a bit extra and including lots of goodies.  We also moved this weekend so things have really been crazy.  It was nice to get some mail that I could eat!
