Please read the rules prior to joining or posting. Ignorance of the rules does not exempt you from them.
1. Posts will be modded. This means that if I think your post is deliberately asking for a fight, designed to offend a group of fans, or unintentionally aggressive, I will reject the post, and you will have to try to reword it more civilly.
Post that will probably get through without a hitch: fic, art, vids, recs, promotions for challenges and fests, etc.
Posts that won't get through: pointless quizzes, spam, posts asking fans of a character how they can possibly like this character, spoiler posts claiming something you know will piss off another group as the best thing ever, posts trying to score free stuff, etc.
2. Flames are unacceptable. Fighting is unacceptable. Respect is key in this community. If you are writing your response and cannot think of a way to phrase your argument that will not incite offense, then take a step back and wait until you can do so. Fighting has never been allowed on this community.
3. Flamebait icons will warrant a warning, and then a ban. It doesn't matter what side of the debate you're on, and you can use them all you like in your personal journal (after all, in your group, they're probably funny); however, on the community, I expect mutual respect from members, and that doesn’t include 'hater' icons that are part of an ongoing fight, particularly if you've stolen another group's icon and altered it to support your side.
4. Don't present your personal opinion as fact, and don't make broad generalizations about other fans. In fact, if you don't have to talk about other fans, then don't do it at all.
5. Harassment of other members of the community outside the community will warrant a banning.
Why: Over the past year, certain Smallville fans have taken it upon themselves to follow people to their journals and leave hateful comments, send harassing emails, and bait-and-hate groups that disagree with their interpretation of the show. This is a television show; that is uncalled for. It only aggravates "the other side" to an issue and makes them more defensive and abrasive in turn. If I hear of you doing it, you are gone.
6. Disabling comments is not allowed.
Why: Some people disable comments on a community post so that they can insult people and only allow them to respond in their own space where they are allowed to fight. Stand behind what you have to say, and if you can't say it nicely, maybe you shouldn't say it. If you disable comments, I will delete the post.
Caveat: If you tend to disable comments because you are afraid of flaming, pm me to let me know, and I can track the post so the flamers will be caught and taken care of.

8. Please put tags on all creative works indicating possible spoilers, rating, and warnings for triggers. Ex. rape, incest, and death. Additionally, be kind to your fellow Smallville fen and warn for fan interpretations that you think might offend. You know how sensitive you are about your favorite characters and fannish things. Extend that respect to others.
9. All long posts and large pictures should be placed under an lj-cut. Save our layouts and flist, please.
10. 10) Spoilers:
a) Spoilers for unaired eps are to be placed under an lj-cut. Spoilers that are not under a cut will be rejected.
b) Spoilers for an episode that has already aired in the United States should be placed completely under a cut for a week after the episode airs so that international fans who wish to watch and participate in the fandom will get a chance to watch/download. This includes both text and icons, and if you are going to post icons, keep them completely under the cut for a week afterward and simply describe without spoilers what kind of icons you have. Materials outside of the cut for this period of time will be rejected.
c) Detailed spoilers in reviews, reactions to the episode, or questions regarding the episodes should be kept under a cut for a month after the air date. Simply describe the contents under the cut without spoilers so that fans who have watched the episode can participate.
12. Be proactive. I have two eyes, and there are over 2000 members. PM me if you see a fight starting. If someone is harassing you, before you release the ban-hammer, take screencaps/save evidence, and then let me know what's going on.
13. Please flock any requests for downloading episodes or songs from the episode.
14. If you are going to link creative works on your journal to the community, they need to be unlocked. While I understand the desire to protect yourself in your space, it's just aggravating to scroll down a space where one would ostensibly share their work, only to find dozens of posts they don't have access to unless they 'friend' someone they don't know.
