I stepped on the scale this morning. I'm currently 3 pounds up from my prechristmas weight. On a happier note, I tried on a pair of pants that I had purchased a couple years ago in one of those "If I lost a lot of weight these would be really cute" moods. They were three sizes too small when I bought them and I could get them on, but there was NO zipping them. Well, now they fit. I can get them on, zipped up, and even stick my hand down under the top band. I have to tell you, THAT was a rockin feeling. Oh sure, I don't think the pants are cute anymore, but that is a whole different issue.

Weirdly, when I look in the mirror, I still see the same me I saw 25 lbs ago. Maybe a little thinner in the face, but that is all I see. I have to ask myself if I was not seeing the real weight of me, which seems unlikely, or if this is just one of those bizarre weight loss things... this inability to see the actual change. Is this why some women diet themselves down until they look like bobblehead dolls? Perhaps it's a combination of both, or maybe there is something else I'm not thinking of. Never the less, I find it puzzling and slightly troubling.

On the cardio exercise front, my elliptical glider has been put together, and I have already spent 45 minutes happily walking away on it. This should help a great deal with the "softness" I've been seeing creeping back on my rear, hips, and thighs over the past month and a half. No more excuse for not getting up to do my cardio.

It's difficult to see the changes in ourselves. Pay attention to how clothes feel and how much easier it is to do various things. That's where the changes show up first.

Yay for getting your elliptical put together!
