 | 08:03 am - The Smack Ficathon Post-Ep Challenge. / AU challenge
Here's another effort to revive this community.
With three seasons of CSI:NY behind us and the new one just an episode old - its time to get Smacked back into action.
What you need to do?
1. Select any episode from the show (any season including Season 4) - and write a post-ep fiction for it. OR Write an alternate plot/ending for any episode of your choice.
(You'll know which ones to choose)
2. Here's the format you need to follow:

Season and Episode Name:
Type: Post-Ep / Alternate Plot
Warnings: Please put SPOILER Warnings if you choose to write a fiction based off Season 4 episodes.
Summary:
3. Only one proviso - the fiction should center around Mac and Stella together - whether its friendship or romance. Gen Mac or Gen Stella fictions will not be accepted.
4. The original community rules which can be found in the profile still apply as well. So read those before making a post here.

With the revival of smack_ficathon comes--what do you know--a new ficathon. The format is a bit different this time, so we'll see how things go, but before we begin, we'd like to remind you of a few things, purely because it's been a while.

There are, clearly, five single-word prompts. You have several options: a prompt per drabble, two prompts per short-short (under 500 words), or one longer piece for three prompts or more. The pieces don't have to be directly related to the promtps--unless you want them to. :)

First and foremost: Happy Independence Day to all our American members!
After almost 3 months of non-activity, smack_ficathon returns to provide you with more Smacked goodness.
We have a few announcements to make:
1. New Moderators
In the light of getting a better response than before, two moderators have joined the team to help out:
So lets give a warm welcome to poloparadise and eternal_sadist!
Since dimgwrthien714 seems to be rarely available, I've had no choice than to rope in people who are available and willing to help.
2. New Ficathon being discussed
eternal_sadist and I have been discussing a new ficathon which is due to start sometime this week. We're discussing the possibility of changing certain rules and the format. A formal announcement will be made tomorrow. So watch out for that.
3. A new community and affiliate
Announcing magnified_crime, a discussion community devoted to today's most popular procedural dramas, moderated by both the lovely eternal_sadist and yours truly.
This is a community designed solely with merit-based discussion in mind, and we're looking for people who enjoy participating in and facilitating strong conversation--even debate. For those of you who are particularly verbose, we're trying to hook you! :) Among the shows covered are those of the CSI and Law & Order franchises, NCIS, Criminal Minds, Cold Case, Without a Trace, and Numb3rs, and we're open to more prompting. New discussions will be posted every few days, and for more info, check out our profile page. In the meantime, to tempt you, this is the topic we open with:

In light of the interview with Carmine Giovinazzo that CSI Files recently posted, relationships--especially that between Danny Messer and Lindsay Monroe--have been called to the forefront. CSI: NY has put forth several canon relationships this season, to both the dismay and elation of its viewers. Does this help the show? Has it been handled correctly? Does it have more potential than is being grasped? Should the writers have ignored all of this completely and stuck to the procedural portion of procedural dramas?
All those who have a point to make, head over there and get the ball rolling!

Hello to all the lovely Smacked lovers out there--
We can thank the recent Season three episodes for some nice Mac/Stella friendship, but recently this community isn't getting too much love.
So as a mutual decision by myself and our other lovely mod, cae_prince, we have decided to spruce things up a bit. So here is what you guys get to have:
1. We are offering open posting for two weeks. From tomorrow's date until March 18th, you can post any Mac/Stella fics, without a prompt. So if you have a Mac/Stella claim at another community, or signed up for 100 drabbles/fics somewhere else, feel free to post them over here, as well.
2. If you get someone to join, we are offering you a freebie fic pass for a future ficathon month, or a free Mac/Stella graphic of your choice [user info banner, header, or wallpaper] made by yours truly.
3. Beginning on March 18, we are going to be instituting a different kind of ficathon. Instead of using pictures/lyircs/etc, we will be using the 25 or 50 word charts like some other communities do.
So between now and then, PROMOTE, WRITE, AND WRITE SOME MORE!!
We're looking forward to seeing your results!

With no new posts yet for the new ficathon, I come bearing three Mac pairing fics. You can choose just to read the Mac/Stella, of course, but I thought I'd toss the other two here just in the rare chance that someone is also a Mac/Peyton or Mac/Jane shipper too. Or if you are just willing to lend critiques/comments/suggestions. None of them are based off the prompts, but I figured that some fic was better than no fic :)

slipping in a quick fic before the new ficathon starts.. This one was a quicky but I enjoyed how it turned out. I didn't really write it with any direct purpose but it ended up cute, in my opinion. Always looking for your opinions, too!
