Would anyone like a card with all four members of Beecake's autographs on it?



I got these at 2007 ORC - the signatures are on the back of my Wizard Circle pass, in fact! I'd love to pass these on to someone who would want them. Someone who maybe doesn't already have, or otherwise wouldn't be able to get autographs from the band.

Also, I have a Beecake guitar pick. thuri totally stole liberated this from Billy's (or was it Rick's?) microphone stand after the ORC concert.

Beecake has added a new album version of "Boy" to their myspace player - and I am honestly so impressed with it. I mean, the old version was among my favourites by them, but this just... Billy's voice has SO much emotion.

I just wish they would publish the album already. Or at least give us a date when it comes out! :D

Hopefully these have worked, havent listened to them all the way through yet, but this mediafire folder contains the three new Myspace Player songs from the boys Myspace site.

Three Songs

Does anyone have a clean copy of Boy uploaded anywhere that I could be linked to?

The band has put a new song up on their Myspace page, it's called "Broken Songs". There is also a new blog entry telling us that it is a "sneaky peek" from their forthcoming album.

The band has put up brand new photos from the Tartan Clef Music Awards on the Photo section of their official MySpace page: http://www.myspace.com/beecakeband. One of the boys has apparently decided to see if blondes really DO have more fun, as evidenced by his new hair color.

Still no word on an official album release, I take it? News about the band has been incredibly slow of late.

Billy Boyd made a special appearance at the Tartan Clef award ceremony to accept the Best Live Act award on behalf of his band Beecake. You can read more about the event here.

Congratulations to Billy and Beecake on being the Tartan Clef People's Choice!

It's been really quiet since late summer/early autumn. I haven't heard anything since the "we're in the studio" announcement except for the festival bit back in August. I find it really difficult to follow the Beecake boards/myspace comments, though, so I might have missed something. Have any of you heard anything new?

It's official - the Beecake boys are recording their debut album next week! Billy let the news slip in an interview in the Daily Record. ( Read the full interview under the cut )

Beecake fans around the world have the opportunity to nominate the band for the first ever Tartan Clef Award - a celebration of Scotland's contribution to live music. Go here and cast your vote for Beecake - the awards will be given in November, and two lucky people will get the chance to travel to Glasgow to see the ceremony (and possibly watch the winning act perform) live.

Beecake has come through once again - there's a brand new song on their MySpace player entitled "This Is Happening". Stop on by their official MySpace page and check it out. It's a fantastic song, with some great guitar riffs and vocals.

Beecake has uploaded a new song to their MySpace page - a studio recording of "Lost Direction", with richer instrumentals. Very nice.

As posted earlier, the boys of Beecake have put up two batches of photos from their studio recording sessions - one set from 2007, the other from March 2008. Since some of you likely don't have MySpace accounts, I've uploaded the photos to my Photobucket account and posted them here in my own journal. The post is unlocked, so feel free to point others there if you so choose. There are some great shots in these sets - the boys are obviously having a great time in the studio, and hopefully we'll have a brand new CD from them sometime this year or next year.

Beecake have uploaded a new song - "Boy" - to their MySpace page.

Their profile has also been updated to indicate that they've booked studio time in March "to record some brand new material". I can't wait to hear that!
