Today, at approximately 12:38 Coordinated Revoolutionary Time, The Leader posted the following message to his twitter feed.

"Freedom day will be postponed until July 25th. I have more important things to attend to than celebration, I'm afraid. War is love!"

We have not recieved any clarification as to why this has become necessary, but I think it's safe to say that the alert level will NOT have been lowered to "Limited Curfew" by July 11th. So we are now in the process of rescheduling this year's Freedom Day celebrations to Saturday July 25th.

We will bring you information as it becomes available.

Yes, it's that time of year again. Freedom day is less than five shorts weeks away! Please take the time to fill out your freedom audit forms, and submit them to the Office of Bureaucracy before the 11th of July.

Truthnight Premiere:

First screening of a new short film from Finite State Productions.

 Four panellists discuss the recent freedom day riots on the popular news and current affairs broadcast "Truthnight". Is lethal force always necessary, or are there perhaps other ways of quelling dissent? And how can we tell good dissent from bad dissent?

Inspired by the coverage of the G20 Riots, Truthnight is a biting apagogic satire of editorial in news media. Directed by Alias Cummins, Truthnight stars James Bide-Thomas, Andrew Knifton, Targ Patience, Martin Christopher and Johnny Darke.

Some cast members will be present to sign memorabilia and promotional items, including the new Slaughterhaus 5 "SHUT UP AND DO AS YOU'RE TOLD" posters.


Meg Lee Chin Live

Renowned Pigface alumni and former Crunch frontwoman Meg Lee Chin will be performing a live set of her solo material. This is our first live musical performance and we are all very excited that Meg has agreed to play. Please arrive early to avoid disappointment.


Lucha Britannia + Finite State : "For Your Safety and Security"

The art direction of Finite State and the wrestling prowess of Lucha Britannia come together to bring a grittier, realer kind of combat performance to the Resistance Gallery, blurring the boundaries of wrestling, reality, satire and violence.

Mendacity

A joint collaboration between Trauma Unit and Finite State, Mendacity is a participatory performance art piece which explores the nature of lying, truth and confession. Participants will be invited to confess the biggest lie they ever told in a camera equipped confessional booth - but only the movement of their lips will be recorded. Their lies will then become part of the ambient visual texture of the evening. Confession is inevitable, and good for the soul.

Sophia Landi

Notable fire performer and femme fatale Sophia Landi will be performing fabulous feats of flammable ferocity throughout the night.

The Resistance Gallery is situated in a converted railway arch, within three minutes walking distance from Bethnal Green Tube, Cambridge Heath Overground and numerous bus and night bus routes.

We at the Freedom Compliance Commission have been asked to make the following statement on behalf of the Dissent Mediation Services.

Attempts by the so called "Real Revolutionary Industrial Party" to stage an Anti-Freedom demonstration at the 2008 Freedom Day celebrations are a treasonous attempt by traitors, terrorists and anarchist malcontents to stir up trouble and cause civil unrest.

As you know, such activities are explicitly proscribed in the new Freedom Day guidelines as set out in sections 8-37 of the Roadmap To Total Freedom, and as such, will be dealt with swiftly and efficiently by the newly expanded Dissent Mediation Services.

We at the commission are especially dismayed at the violent and openly anti-authoritarian tone of these so called "protesters" who clearly have little to no understanding of the importance of the new legislation in maintaining a safe and peaceful environment for all of us.

This is why the Freedom Compliance Commission has decided to directly petition The Leader for expansion of the existing powers of the Dissent Mediation Services.

We have consulted with senior service providers and they have requested an extension to the period of discretionary internment from the current 90 days to 3.2 years. We are certain that this measure is essential in allowing them to effectively provide a comprehensive and competitive dissent mediation service to all service users.

This proposal has the full support of the Freedom Compliance Commission and the Dissent Mediation Services, and, pending The Leader's final approval, should come into force on midnight, June 28th.

We are sure that this will give the services ample time to ensure that Freedom Day celebrations are an enjoyable and pleasant experience for all participants.

In addition, on a personal note, I'd like to wish all of you a very safe, and peaceful, Freedom Day.
