About
Slash Fight Club
Slash Fight Club is a challenge community with a twist. Writers will go head to head writing stories based on the chosen prompt for the round. Writers will be paired up, each writing their own fic to be entered. The winner of each pairing will move forward to be paired with another writer to again, write a story based on a prompt. The challenge goes on, winning writers advancing, until there is one left.

So, The Basics...

Challengers. Writers will be paired randomly. No you cannot change the person you are paired with, just deal with it. You don't have to talk to the person you are paired with if you don't want to.

Prompts. Prompts will be taken from suggestions made by community members both readers and writers. Prompts may be anything from the serious to the silly.

Length. Fic length will be determined by mod(s). Entries will be required to be one-shot, stand alones. No chapter fics will be here. This is supposed to be a quick read kind of thing.

Voting. You are not required to vote, but it would be appreciated if both readers and writers do vote. You may not vote for yourself (that's just not fair). If you are found to be creating sock puppets (accounts made just for voting) you will be disqualified and your challenger will win by default.

Pairings. All pairings allowed at Hard Core Slash will be allowed here. So feel free to open some people's eyes to new pairings. You can't be voted down for that.

Rounds. Round lengths will be three weeks with a week of voting. So, that's about one fic a month. That should be manageable, for most folks. If you are unable to get your entry in before the deadline, you will be disqualified and your challenger will win by default. If both participants cannot get their entries in, both will be eliminated from the current challenge.

Side Card. Side Cards are mini challenges for those who would like a way to bust through writer's block or just want the challenge of writing something new. They will run for two weeks with a week of voting. One winner will be named. Should a tie happen, a one day vote will take place between those tied.
So that's it. Onto the rules. Yes, every community must have some rules to keep it going smoothly. So, here goes...

Entries must include the following:

Title (Yes, this is a must)
Pairing (No nicknames please, i.e. synacky, bratt,, it's annoying)
Disclaimer (All entries must have a disclaimer, no ifs, ands, or buts)

All entries must be under a cut. If your cut fails or you do not add one, you will be given two hours after notification to fix it. If you do not, your entry will be removed.

In an effort to keep the front page as uniform as possible, please do not use large font sizes, colors or odd HTML tags. Bolding, italics and underlining are acceptable, but not required.

You are asked, though by now it should be common sense... please make sure that your spelling is correct and that grammar is as well. There is nothing worse for a reader than trying to wade through a bunch of misspelled words and very bad grammar. Text/Net speak is not allowed unless part of a text or IM conversation within the fic. The use of a beta is suggested if you are unsure of your own editing skills.

Entries must be posted to this community until after the challenge is over. Once voting has been finished and the winners for each round announced, you will be free to do with your entry as you wish. Also, cross-posting your entries is not allowed until after the current round is over.

It shouldn't have to be said, but because there's always someone trying to get around the rules... plagiarism is a huge no-no. If you are found to have stolen someone's story, you will be banned from the community without any notice.

While constructive criticism is welcomed and sometimes needed, flaming and trolling will not be tolerated under any circumstances whatsoever. This community is meant to be friendly and fun. If you are found to be doing so, you will be banned from posting to the community. The same goes for any disrespect of the mods for any reason.

If you have any issues that come up, feel free to contact the mods privately. We will do our best to resolve the situation. Remember, we are not babysitters. If someone is providing you constructive criticism, do not come crying to us about it. Use it to make your writing better.
