The Karaoke Challenges are meant to fun, creative inspiration for members of SH fandom. We're hoping you will take these broad ideas and run with them. We'll introduce a challenge, which may be a song (and may be something else). You can take your inspiration from any part of it — the title, a line, a single word, an entire refrain, the banner itself, whatever floats your boat. We'll take stories, pwps, poems, snippets, jokes, images — whatever the karaoke inspires you to produce. We intend to run the challenges for about six weeks each . . . but if taking a little more time will help you finish a story, that's fine, too, just let us know. But try to stick to the deadline—deadlines are good! They help us finish things.

Karaoke Challenge Guidelines
1. Please include the following at the beginning of the post.

*Warnings: This is the author's choice. SH fandom is used to stories without warnings. Bold the word "Warning:" and put the actual warning behind the lj-cut.)
2. This is a slash community, although it is gen-friendly. If one of our challenges inspires gen fic, we're happy to have it.
3. We encourage readers (and writers) to send comments and encouragement to our writers. SH fandom has become known as the fandom that does not send LOCs; we lose writers because of this. So please, consider dropping a note, even a simple thank you, to those writers who feed our fandom, whether here, or on the net, or in zines. It's a small price to pay for hours of reading pleasure.
4. We also encourage discussion, debate, and constructive criticism. It should go without saying that flaming, name calling, and general unpleasant behavior are not appropriate. Don't make me come up there.
5. If your fic is over 200 words or if it has tons of graphics, put it under an lj-cut for convenience.
6. We hope the Karaoke Challenge will be inspiring, broadly interpreted, and lots of fun. If you've got a song you think reminds you of the guys, especially if it's funny or sexy or snarky — share it with us and maybe it'll be the next challenge.
7. Above all else — HAVE FUN!!!
