When he was 12, they were far from innocent, and brought him guilt, shame and wet sheets.
He somehow thought being his sidekick would make them go away, make them clean again.
Rejection happened.
From that point on his thought became murderous and vengeful.

Gibbs turned over and watched Tony get out of bed. His sleepy smile turned to a grimace as the high thread count Egyptian cotton sheet was torn from Tony’s thigh with a cringe-making tearing sound and he felt the sheet tighten under his own bare body. He only let out his breath when he realized the sheet was stretched but not torn.
His voice was sleepy, caffeine-deprived and ultra-growly as a result. ‘Tony…you ever eat donuts in bed again I’ll rip you a new one…understand?
Tony grinned and headed for the shower. ‘After last night, I think I need one.’

“They…cut…my goddamn…hair,” Kaleb mutters for the umpteenth time.
Kalan winces, wraps his arms around his friend’s shoulders, and rests his head so they’re cheek-to-cheek. “You’re still the same person. Just because you have less hair doesn’t mean people will love you less.”
A corner of Kaleb’s mouth curls in an odd smile. “You really think that?”
“For at least one person,” Kalan whispers, running a hand over his friend’s head, “I know it.”
