back to basics tutorial }
Back to basics tute! Using only fill layers (and one semi-optional Colour Balance layer) and textures.
Note; Works best on caps with a lot of cream/white/gray shades.
I'm using this picture of Edward Cullen.
(Includes .psd).
1. Crop. Do not alter.
2. Duplicate base. Set to Screen 100% opacity.
3. New layer, fill with #011634, set to Screen 100% Opacity
4. New layer, fill with #86afec, set to Color Burn 100% Opacity
5. New layer, fill with #011634, set to Difference 100% Opacity
6. New Adjustment layer; Colour Balance.
Shadows: 0, 0, 0
Midtones: -100, -100, -100
Highlights: 0, 0, 0
7. New layer, this texture by
dusty_memories set to Multiply 100% opacity
8. New layer, this texture by
innocent_lexys set to Mulitply 100% opacity.
9. New layer, this texture by
innocent_lexys set to Lighten 100% opacity. Note: Lighten and Screen are fairly interchangable for this kind of texture. Use whichever, depending on look.
And you're done. Easy.
