I wanna tell you a story
Back in May I started to have problems with my laptop. There was obviously a faulty connection to the screen and it kept going weird. I tried to deal with it for a few weeks but the problem got worse and I had to give up and take it in to be repaired.

So therein starts the story. I was told it could be up to 6 weeks but I saw that as the worst case scenario...if only.
Each week I would go in and ask and they would tell me there was still no news.
I was like a bear with a sore head at home. Anyone could have mistaken me for someone trying to give up smoking. I was always shouting at everyone.

We do have another PC at home but with DS off school for the summer it was quite a fight to get any time on there and so I only had a couple of hours a day when he went off to do his paper round.

Then last week the shop phoned me up to tell me I am behind on my payments. I went on a rant about having this time been without my lappy for 9 weeks and that there is no way I am paying another penny until my Laptop was back.

They did a bit of work for a change and found that the laptop had in fact been fixed and dispatched 2 weeks ago but it hadn't arrived back at the store. They went on to tell me that they would investigate and if they couldn't locate the machine by the end of this week then they would replace it with a new model.

Still without a phone call I went into the shop today and the manager told me he was expecting it back any time today. In fact it arrived while I was there but it would take them an hour to unload the lorry and sign it in and everything so I took my shopping home and went back later.

It is such a relief to have my dear lappy back. Now I can sit here and do all my work and watch TV all at the same time ;)

Do you believe in ghosts? Have you ever encountered one?

Maybe. I mean I don't believe definitely either way so I guess that puts me at a maybe. Same goes for the encounters, I don't know, it's possible I suppose.

I don't think so. But I don't think I will ever close my mind to the idea that there could be. But I'm working on the assumption of no.

In other news/// I just bought season 2 of Dexter from the warehouse. HOOOOOOLLLLLLYEAHHH

First person/character than came to my head: Bernard Black. I guess because I can't think of a better way to end my days (and if I'm stuck on a desert island, they'll end, I mean unless my FC of choice was McGyver but, I'm not the type of person that would do that, you know the type of person who puts "unlimited wishes" as one of their 3 wishes, type of person, because I'm sure, had I chosen McGvyer, he'd be able save us, but I mean, why fight it?) than smoking and drinking alongside someone who surpasses me in their awesomeness and cynicism (and you know that where there's Bernard, there's alcohol and cigarettes, and who cares about preserving your health when your going to die because you're stranded on a freakin island).

Now there's a fantasy.

Political Leanings

Just because I find it interesting, I sometimes like to take those dumb political tests online to see which way I lean politically. They're by no means accurate, but interesting so check out my results under the cut if you wanna.

I support two teams; New Zealand and anyone playing Australia
That's right New Zealand has 2 gold medals! Accompanying that we have 1 silver and 4 bronze. I know, it's a lot of bronze. But hey. 7 Medals. Yay.

Saturday/Sunday winners

Also, it seems some of the aussies are a bit annoyed that Great Britain has surpassed them on the old medal table. Well, cry me a river. I officially support Great Britain secondarily, only after NZ, now. And, no, that's not mean, I'm a kiwi, that's just what we do. That's the rule.

Yes, I've been watching way to much of the olympics, much to the detriment of my studies. Pity I don't really care. I mean, c'mon, once in every four years? That gains priority I should think.

ETA: Total medal tally: 3 gold, 1 silver, 5 bronze. Yep, bronze is our speciality, we also got the New Zealand Fourth multiple times.

Also, a little humour - I don't think I've posted this onion vid here before, but it's one of the funnier ones.

"How would you like it if you spent your two months in a mountain cave sleeping on rocks, planning something really special only to have someone take the credit away from you?" Well, I sure will ask myself that question next time someone hammers on about 9/11 conspiracy theories.
