Hey guys.

The cutest little comicstress, just hipped me to this list.

http://www.comicsreporter.com/index.php/briefings/commentary/2819

The damned shame of it is there's like no one from Orlando listed at all. I emailed and requested that Tom add SketchSouth and I figured I'd post the link so's everyone else could get added.

You know. Make the world of comics just a little bit smaller.

Can't hurt, right?

it's a Steve Zissou portrait commission I did as an art exchange with co-worker and photographer Lesley Silvia (i believe as a gift for her husband Jared). it's 9"x12" oil on paper:

for this, i got a really cool Buddha boiled emulsion Polaroid framed on glass in exchange. it seriously looks like a hologram, i don't know if i can even take a pic or scan it. i love it, thanks to Lesley for being so patient.

It was great seeing a lot of you guys at the con. I'll try and be more regular about thursdays, methinks. Comics people, I think make me pretty happy.

It is a sad state of affairs, I know.

Anyhow, here's some junk I drid.

I did this for a magazine last month. I think it's ok if I show it about:

This is something from the project I'm working on. It's called Dogstar, and I'm right between thumbnails and finished sequential pages.

Kids and monsters! Everyone loves kids and monsters!

I yet live! And now so does the blog!

Comics no longer taboo as respect rises

CINCINNATI -- As a fine arts graduate student in the early 1980s, Carol Tyler felt she had to hide her interest in cartoon drawing from teachers. An art form associated with comic books and comic strips wasn't considered college material.

Now a professional cartoonist and graphic novelist, Tyler began teaching the University of Cincinnati's first comics art class last year.
